Los Angeles has never been kind to the Indiana Pacers, making the Lakers minus the points the best choice tonight at the Staples Center.
The Pacers are ending a long six-game road trip in LA against the Lakers where they have had very little success against Kobe Bryant & teammates, losing 14 of their last 16 visits.
The Lakers are 9-2 at home this year, with Kobe getting more players involved. His average is down nine points per game from last year (26.4 from 35.4), while LamarOdom (19.2 ppg, 8.5 reb, 4.9 assists) is having a career year. LA's role players are greatly improved and they'll catch a Pacer team that could be pretty tired and playing at less than 100%.
Jermaine O'Neal (18.2-9.8) continues to be bothered by a hamstring injury and Stephen Jackson left the team's last game with a knee problem, playing 25 minutes without scoring. After consecutive games that came down to the last shot (a win at Golden State and a loss in Seattle), the Pacers were then blown out at Denver by 20 points. They may not have much left tonight against the greatly improved Lakers. Lay the points.
