Sounds about right. You know JM filters out picks where teams in the top 4 and bottom 4 RPI are either canceled or pts. are bought?

ATL is playing the Lakers (#2 RPI rank)

Again, keep an injury report. For these two games though.

I likes em both. They look like winners. I love fading the Lakers on big point spreads and the Spurs should handle the Knicks good. the Knicks are too wild and retarded to keep up with Spurs. I hope...

I think LA can take care of the Hawks despite 9.5. Its in their building and they've been hot even w/o Bynum. The ASG break is gonna help the Lakers more then the Hawks because of Derek Fisher and Lamar Odom being old.

Also, how about the Hornets only -3.5 against the Thunder. They beat them earlier this year by 25 and then again by 12.

the poster JM08 has some sort of filter (not talking about the official system)

I think all the mods should merge all the JM threads way to many

I was about to Start a Teasers Thread NBA related, Your Teasers have been fire lately anyway (Perfect in the NBA too G8 Job)

I would love spurs @ -1 (if 5 happens to be the line)

Laker game I don't know about but the line is pretty high and I think ATL Could Cover 13

but I have to Jump that New Orleans Line

Spurs and Hornets would a really good Teaser IMO

yeah i might tease the 2. my teasers are 6 points so it would be atl +15.5 and w.e the spurs line will be..just deduct 6 points from it. im liking the way this looks.

"2 of the main things I look at are RPI and Injuries.

Google "NBA RPI" and check it out. This is truly a listing of all NBA teams ranked at THIS point in time. It includes everything from Power Rankings to Strength of Schedule and best of all it leaves human nature or preference out of it! Power Rankings are only so good because whoever is putting the list together has some influence. Anyway I try not to EVER bet a team in the system that is either one of the BOTTOM 4 or a team that is playing any 2 of the TOP 3 or 4 teams as part of their road trip. Over time this has proven to elimate at least 1 maybe 2 losses (A,B &C).

Injuries are huge and they are tricky. It really depends on how long the injured player has been out. If a guy gets hurt tonight and you want to bet his team tomorrw - I'd stay away. But if the guy has been out for more than 3 weeks or so - Vegas definitely has caught on and is adjusting the line for it.

There are plenty more but those are 2 big ones."

well, then we are getting conflicting info from johnmorr. like i said in my pm, when i recomended using rpi for the nba, he specifically said he doesnt use it b/c it would eliminate too many winners.

again, the hawks would not be a play tonight if this top 4/bottom 4 angle would be used.

                                      Emailed plays are:

                                      SA -3
                                      ATL +11

Buy points accordingly (looks like 2.5 each game right now).

Dex - I think you are misinterpreting what I said. You and I were talking about the MLB system and you asked if I would consider using RPI for NBA. The answer is that I would not use RPI in the manner that it is used in NBA because it would eliminate too many winners.

HOWEVER, I personally would not bet on the WORST teams in a series and I would not bet on a mediocre West Coast team who was playing Boston, Orlando and Cleveland in one series. That's simply what I meant about "top4/bottom4 RPI".

                                        Sorry for any confusion -
