OK MMA Fans,

This Saturday...Fedor "Baddest Man on the Planet" the Russian fights Arlovski (another Russian I think?)
Fedor is -400 at Bodog but thats a bargain!! Arlovski lost 2 of 3 to Tim Sylvia who lasted a whopping 36 SECONDS w/Fedor

! Arlovski is athletic but he has a glass chin and won't get out of the 1st round either! I checked it out expecting -650 or something like that!!

Hi Guys,

I have noticed something with the Knicks over the past month or so. When they are playing decent teams, they tend to rise to the occasion and perform well. On the other hand, when they are playing sub .500 teams, they really do drop their focus and for some reason struggle to hit baskets.

So what i am basically getting at is, would the Knicks at +5.5 be a solid pick.

Thoughts?

Fazz, great question... but can you run the numbers? What's the average point differential for NY Knicks in games versus sub 500 teams vs teams over 500. No need for personal opinions when numbers dont lie.

i know the series last year was 1-1, but wake is at home, their team from last year has obviously improved. The spread is 13, but look at the recent wins wake has had over teams better than va tech, and in double digits. 13 doesn't seem like that much for wake to cover at home against an inferior squad.

You have to tell us more about your wrestling career too. Which weight division, your record stuff like that. I used to wrestle in HS myself. Wrestling....I started in 9th grade and I sucked. I wrestled 103 and didn't win a match. I came back sophomore year and again was in the 103 weight class. I had a decent year...won my first career match and ended the season losing at Class A's (which is a tournament that you must place in to make sectionals...invloving teams in your class) i went 19-18 that year. 11th grade..I moved up to 119 weight class and did OK. We had a coaching change for the team and we didn't get along till my senior year. I went 15-25 that year.

Finally, Senior year again at 119 weight class. I matured a lot and was the team leader. I was the CAPTAIN of the team voted by coaches and team mates. I was 100% the leader, the best, the one every looked to for help. I set a school record last year getting 36 wins in a single season going 36-7. I lost in semi finals of sectionals. But, still set a school record and also won a tournament for the school that year. I was the first person to win a tournament for my school in 11 years.

Now, I go back to help out the old team, help coach, teach moves.....and o yeah, beat them up too. i have a great time and love the sport to death. I wish I could wrestle competitvely again, but Plattsburgh doesn't have a program. School is more important than wrestling, so when I'm older, maybe my son will be interested and will want to wrestle.

be careful trusting line movements on celts, magic and cavs games. The books do whatever they can to get you off the dominant cover squads even trying to trick sharps with line movements.

The stats look good, Cleveland been winning 75% 1st QTR while Portland only 39% but how much does this info count between rivals?

I think the Boston 1st QTR looks hot, Boston have been winning 67% in contrast to Miami's 31%, plus Boston are in good form and a pound for pound better team than Miami and have a point to prove to their doubters.
Boston winning 1st QTR by -1.5 could be a good play, what other factors should we take into consideration regarding 1st QTR's between these teams? how have past 1st quarters been between these two teams?

Haven't pulled the trigger on the Cavs for the 1st quarter but those numbers are hard to go against. When one teams wins 75% of the time in the first quarter and the team they are playing loses the first quarter 61% of the time...that is hard to overlook.

PLUS Cleveland will probably come out a little hot and bothered and more focused after the LA debacle. On top of that you have serious point guard issue with rotations in Portland and you can see the Cavs winning the first quarter.

Now....will they win the first quarter....I don't know for sure....If I knew FOR SURE, everything I own plus everything my whole family owns would be on the them. But you can never go wrong if you consistently put the ODDS in your favor over a long period of time.

Cleveland and the first quarter win is just a small example of that. Tonight might be one of those 1 out of four where they DO not win the first quarter.

i used sbr power ratings for this game....shows miami should win by 9 so the fact they are only laying 6 i think thats good value
