They get their 7-8 figure pay cheque whether they display 0 passion or 100% passion...

why are people surprised all the time? Its just like the normal workplace, how often do u see people come into work every single day and perform at their best, and never slack? Very very rare, just like in sports.

Hockey and football players don't mail it in like basketball. I'm not surprised about this, but like I stated it's why people can't get into basketball like they do the 3 other major sports (4 if you include soccer).

For the record I had Wizards +8 1h today so I lost no money on the NBA tonight.

Football is different because every game matters in college and NFL. NBA has 82 games. No way the guys are gonna give maximum effort every night.

You act like these guys try in even 3/4 of the games. Give me college conference basketball with the crowd into it and guys jumping for rebounds, getting back on defense, blocking a guy coming down the lane over what we see night in and night out.

Now playoff basketball is a different story, but still it baffles me that people pay thousands of dollars for a game on Tuesday night just to see guys playing a glorified pickup game.

I never said they try 3/4 of the time. I have no idea how often they actually try. Shit man. All that money, traveling to different cities all the time with all the different women. So many distractions and shit. They never get called out for it either.

I get the distractions man, I played a sport in college, and I know you dont always want to do it at work. I'm not sure I guess my tone sounded different.

I was making an observation on how tonight was the type of shit that leaves me unable to defend basketball. Crucial part of the season and these teams can't put together a full 4 quarters.

I didn't lose money tonight sheesh you guys are so defensive like you work for the NBA or something.

I made more money pre all stare break. You would think that it would be easier to pick post all star but it has been a bit of a roller coaster. Been making nice profits on NHL and MLB though so will be focusing on those two until the playoffs

You my friend have more balls than me. There's no way in hell im putting money on a team already eliminated from the playoffs with a week left in the season.

Im surprised people still bet this late in the season. 2/3's of the league have no real reason to care anymore. They are either out of playoff contention, locked into their playoffs spots, or healing and resting up for the playoffs.
