How do you see this coming? Clips, better team, go 8 deep , get crushed by rockets, who even with harden, arent nearly as good as clips... Losing to them was surprising, let alone a blowout!

Playing to the competition could be reason. They saw that Harden wasn't playing and didn't bring the same effort. I did not see the boxscore or watch the game though so that is just a guess.

I never understood that, although probably true, how professional athletes dont give maximum effort EVERY NIGHT!

Just another night in the nba "where amazing happens". If I bet a grrr on every game a star was out and took the team with the missing player... well I'd be swimming in $$ this year!

Teams usually win when their best player is out in the NBA.

I'd be happy if they gave it even every other night.

It works in the short term and usually always $$ in the 1st game. But if you go thru a long enough stretch 3+ games missing ur star it catches up.

I think we've seen much more 'amazing' happen in this league than just Rockets winning at home to Clippers, without Harden.
There have been MUCH shittier teams that have beaten much stronger teams...so no surprise here.
