Lakers/Warriors go into full-fledged beast mode in the 2Q to equal the 1H total almost exactly (59 second quarter points after 44 in the first; set total was 103 or 103.5, depending on the shop). Philly/Utah 2H is one point off. Atlanta/Indiana 2H is one point off. Denver/New Orleans puts on the breaks in the fourth quarter and winds up right at the number. Miami/Orlando sees a ton of late scoring to go over by a bucket. Same in Memphis/Washington late -- winds up one point off.

Basically the entire 2H board was "pegged" by Vegas down to the point. Riiiiiiight.

If this were very consistently true live betting would be so easy. If it starts slow go over if it starts fast go under.

One of my personal favorites was the end of the Chicago/Portland game the other night. I didn't see it, but Gee pointed it out to me. Total was 187.5 for the game. There were 55 points scored in the fourth, including a ton at the end when the Bulls kept fouling for "some reason" even after the game was long gone. Wound up at 188, thanks to 15 points in the final 2 minutes (including the Bulls intentionally fouling twice out of nowhere with 25 seconds left):

2:01 93-80 Marco Belinelli makes 24-foot three point jumper (Nate Robinson assists)
1:47 J.J. Hickson makes layup (LaMarcus Aldridge assists) 95-80
1:39 95-80 Nate Robinson misses two point shot
            1:38 J.J. Hickson defensive rebound 95-80
1:30 Nicolas Batum misses three point jumper 95-80
1:29 LaMarcus Aldridge offensive rebound 95-80
1:29 LaMarcus Aldridge makes two point shot 97-80
            1:29 Bulls Full timeout
1:29 Nolan Smith enters the game for Nicolas Batum 97-80
1:29 Will Barton enters the game for LaMarcus Aldridge 97-80
1:29 Luke Babbitt enters the game for J.J. Hickson 97-80
1:29 Joel Freeland enters the game for Wesley Matthews 97-80
1:29 Meyers Leonard enters the game for Damian Lillard 97-80
1:29 97-80 Marquis Teague enters the game for Nate Robinson
1:17 97-83 Marquis Teague makes 25-foot three point jumper (Marco Belinelli assists)
            0:59 Nolan Smith misses 17-foot jumper 97-83
0:58 97-83 Taj Gibson defensive rebound
0:55 97-85 Taj Gibson makes two point shot
0:55 Will Barton shooting foul (Taj Gibson draws the foul) 97-85
0:55 97-85 Taj Gibson misses free throw 1 of 1
0:53 Meyers Leonard defensive rebound 97-85
            0:40 Will Barton misses 20-foot jumper 97-85
0:39 97-85 Nazr Mohammed defensive rebound
0:35 97-87 Jimmy Butler makes 1-foot two point shot (Marquis Teague assists)
            0:33 Trail Blazers Full timeout
0:26 97-87 Marquis Teague personal foul (Nolan Smith draws the foul)
0:25 99-87 Marquis Teague personal foul (Meyers Leonard draws the foul)
0:25 Meyers Leonard makes free throw 1 of 2 98-87
0:25 Meyers Leonard makes free throw 2 of 2 99-87
0:14 99-89 Taj Gibson makes 7-foot jumper (Marquis Teague assists)

no coin i don't have much of an opinion on all of this as i just decided i was staying away from totals across the board and i have noticed my deposits last longer before i lose them than before . so what do you think is going on? are you advocating that there is a fix?

Yeah, I don't even bother with them either.

I don't know what's going on -- it's just "amazing" to me, you know?

I was on the right side yesterday.

Kings / 76ers second half over. Thomas fouls with the game well over with 17 seconds on the clock then runs down the floor at hits a 3.

As a non-US resident, can you explain what you mean by Vegas? I associate Vegas with casinos and slot machines, so can't see the link to sports betting.. The truth is bookmakers have teams of math and statistics PhDs, who have really sophisticated algorithms. The fact that you're seeing them hit totals pretty accurately isn't much surprise. These guys are experts - their set-ups aren't really too different from a trading floor at an investment bank.

Because Vegas runs every aspect of gambling.

Just like stockbrokers these guys can see all their clients positions too. On top of that, every day they're gathering valuable user data to analyse betting behaviour - another tool for setting lines.

I can tell you how to make easy money consistently on 2h nba totals..

at half time if the total is less than half the original total then bet under and vice versa. Its too easy to predict the outcomes

Totals, just like spreads, are set in an attempt to draw equal action on both sides, not predict the actual outcome. The exact numbers these experts come up with are probably not what the books or Vegas will post. Good luck, NC.
