Knicks favorites over Celtics on the road
This line absolutely baffles me. Boston already beat Knicks in MSG and now their home not to mention Knicks have been "soft" losing to physical teams. Felton won't be back till saturday and even with Melo playing as solid as he is I would think considering their home Boston would be 2-3 point favs. So What am I missing here and why are books giving Celtics so much credit, or is it just public perception and the books now they will get money on the Knicks regardless of what the line is?

Boston is on a four game losing streak, returning home after a two day trip to Cleveland and Detroit. They're not playing exceptionally bad, just exceptionally average. During this losing streak Garnett and Pierce are only averaging 16 and 12 ppg respectively with Rondo being the only person on the team with a breakout game (30 pts, 7ast @ Chi).

For the emotional factor, this is the first time Melo is playing KG since his suspension. Apparently Melo is pretty surly after the incident so expect a grudge match to ensue. Or maybe not.

I expected the line to be Boston -2 or 3. This is a veteran team that's hungry for a win. I do like how their bench has been playing lately - Lee, Terry, and Sullinger in particular. Not sold on the Knicks on the road yet and they are still playing without Felton. I expect the Knicks to kill Boston on the glass but if the C's can keep Chandler off the offensive glass I like their chances to end the 4 game skid. Boston ML -105 for me for 2 units tonight.

I agree about where line should be. The whole "revenge" factor in regards to Melo comment is a total non-factor. Celtics seem to be playing at the level of the teams they have lost to lately. C's also own the Knicks at home. NYC still without Felton and Wallace and this has been part of their losses of late. This will be a close game IMO. Being a Celtics fan I can't jump on the line yet. I'll wait to try to get on Celtics +4 as minimum w/ some live wagering if they get down a bit in first half.

just heard on the radio that the Knicks haven't beaten Boston on the road since Garnett got their which is 11 straight games. No doubt Boston ML is the value play here.

For those saying to take the Knicks because Melo 'wants revenge'... When has Melo ever stepped up in a "big" game other than at Syracuse? He sucked ass after the incident with Garnett last game... 6 for 26 lmao... It's not really his game to play with an edge or anger, he is at his best when he is laughing and joking and playing with rhythm. I like the Celtics and the under and will most likely take 2H under as well... Knicks are reverting to one-on-one ball and struggle if they aren't banging threes. May be a little biased but dont think Im crazy here either... bol

^^ Easyliving, that stat isn't very useful. Boston was infinitely better than NY for the vast majority of those 11 wins (perhaps all 11 of the wins). This is the first year NY is actually showing some life, and I think they'll win this game.

yea that streak means nothing and neither does these teams' recent performance. These are both veteran teams who are confident in themselves and don't need momentum. Take whoever you think is the better team and adjust a few points for home court don't read too much into it
