    Bulls/Grizz total
Sitting at 179. Thoughts? Lowest total I think we've seen this year.

Australia's squarest book, TAB, opened it at 180.5.

I'm expecting it to be close game, wouldn't be surprised with an 88-83 type scoreline. They're evenly matched on defense, but all it takes is a couple of late FTs so it's a tough call either way.

Lowest total I can think of this season.

Previous years Boston and Chicago match ups and a few other eastern conference teams have gone that low.

I would not play the over with any confidence.

I took the under in this game already. Chicago plays really good D and I've hit almost everyone of their unders I have bet ranging from 180 -189. Memphis plays really good D as well plus on their first game back from the road so looking for some fudged shots.

Don't take the over simply because of the "sticker shock" of seeing a 170-something on the board.

Right. The only reason the books put out 179 instead of 180 is for that "sticker shock" to beg you to take the overs.

Not sure how many people are "shocked" by a total in the 170s. Anyone who plays totals should see totals in the 170s all the time.

edit: but I see what you mean, maybe that put out the 179 to entice over action, but i have no idea what the books are up to

edit: or maybe the books thought people would instantly jump on the under because of the teams so they set the total too low so people would get a bad line?

It's the first time in awhile a total has been in the 170's. To the average guy, this looks really low, especially with two quality teams going against each other.

Exactly. Most casual bettors don't keep up with strong D and low scoring in matchups. They just see "oooo its the Bulls and Memphis. They're both good. This ones going over"

Thanks for all the comments fellas. I ended up buying out for a grand total profit of $1.20. Had a bad feeling about the over after the total started heading down again before tipoff.
