#1861Yeah it was a pretty good time and was even a good game. Its much more fun when the sixers are doing good because then the crowd is nuts but they kind of gave up on the year a while ago so I basically just went to see Lebron and Wade.Lebron is pretty amazing to watch as he is just on another level than the whole league.Comment -

#1865Might be a little rusty but wrote this up.
Gulfstream 3/15/2013
Race 1--A race full of horses going backward in form except for the 3 picks. That being said the trainer of the 9-Sheriff Ira is one of those supertrainers who improve their claims 20 lengths first time out so I try to beat him with extreme caution.
8-Large Kaufy 4-1
6-Iron Post 4-1
4-Congrats Criminal 20-1
Race 2--Top choice is purely a value pick as I see her equal to the 2nd choice but is 4x the price.Another "supertrainer" in here with the favorite 2-Dreaming Of Susie so be wary or include .
5-Glacken Road 12-1
6-Dreamcastle 3-1
4-Chippette 15-1
Race 3 --Hard to get past the favorite here but maybe the 2nd choice has a chance at a huge price.
6-Pro D'oro 5-2
4-Unshackled Rouge 20-1
5-Criolla Linda 10-1
Race 4--Really tricky race with a million question marks(How will they run turf to dirt/route to sprint as most are).Just going with connections .
7-Unbridled Bear 6-1
9-Cruises Creek 6-1
5-Mecke Mantle 12-1(Scratched/I guess 8-Xmas Sky 5-2 to replace)
Race 5--Hard to go against the 1 herebut maybe taking the blinkers off will relax the 2-Sweet And Lowdown enough to have some left.
2-Sweet And Lowdown 6-1
1-Mosaicist 5-2
6-Diamond D'oro 8-1
Race 6--Hate to go back to the well as usually after I get a long shot home I refuse to play it next out but there is just too much uncertainty with just about everyone else except the fave.
9-Negrita Tata 8-1
4-Arsenal 8-5
10-Elissa Greeley 10-1
Race 7--Don't think there is much to be made here as Pletcher/Johnny V/First Time Starter = romp. The only interesting horse I can see is the 2-Captain Cook only because Ward does very well moving a horse from Maiden claiming to MSW.Plus if the other firsters aren't fast from the gate the 2 could have a lonely lead but 4-1 isn't really great.
2-Captain Cook 4-1
6-Zaikov 5-2
1-Regiment/1A-Brabbham 3-1
Race 8--Both the Mclaughlin runners are pretty interesting here and originally liked the 8 a lot before I saw he had another runner in here in the 3.The 8 figures to improve a lot off the last race and the figure he earned was only a couple points short of the best in here. The 3 has one of the best long shot angles in horse racing going for him(Mclaughlin/Maiden not first start but first turf). So I don't know what to do here but I guess I'll go with the 3 on top because he figures to be more involved from the beginning and it seems you don't want to come from too far back lately.
3-Got What 8-1
8-Hardest Core 10-1
2-Bernie's Best 7-2
Raced 9--Tossing between top 2 again here with the first time turf and claim for L Rice and 2nd off the bench for Catalano. Both look good but if the 1 takes to the turf the figures say he has a good shot and is a longer price.
1-Bear's Spirit 12-1(Scratched)
11-Cathedro 6-1
7-Solicitation 8-1
10-Dr. Goldfarb 5-1
Race 10---This is the kind of race where you might see a bomb that makes no sense.A cheap maiden claimer where everyone is slow and it doesn't take much for any horse to get brave and win but hard to say who.
1-Bird In The Bush 6-1
3-Dance Wild 2-1
2-My Daughters' Kids 20-1

#1879Wrote this for Oaklawn
Rebel
1-Carve 15-1--At the price it doesn't take much to make this one interesting and figures say he is open to further improvement.Still wary though because Al Stall is in the top 5% of trainers and he debut this one in a 30k maiden claimer where Asmussen claimed him.Has to be some question marks somewhere but think the positives slightly outweigh the negatives.
2-Treasury Bill 5-1--Was hoping this one would be a little higher in odds as his figs say he is going to love a route of ground and when Ellis puts his stock in a graded stake he/she is usually live.Even though he looks like a come from way off the pace type he figures to be much closer after running sprint splits .The only negative is his price.
3-Texas Bling 30-1--Was going in a competitive direction until last race and had no excuse. If you want to say hated the mud then 3rd or 4th is realistic.
4-Delhomme 7-2--Highly skeptical of this guy.Looks like everyone had the Remsen over rated where he earned his best number.Seems like an afterthought to Pletcher behind all his other good 3 year olds. Even with a slight adjustment he is still as good as anyone in here but the fave who is hung out wide.Think what you decide to do with this one ultimately will make or break the race.
5-Hardrock Eleven 50-1--Should stay in his stall as in his 7 career races none are within 20 points of competitive.Might have a future on turf though.
6-Den's Legacy 8-1--The "other" Baffert usually surprises quite often meaning when Baffert has two uncoupled entries the longer odds horse has a higher ROI than the well backed stablemate.Has done little wrong but I think we have seen his best and unless several in here fail to show up it is probably only good for a spot underneath again.
7-Will Take Charge 15-1--This guy is just another one that Lukas over rated trying desperately to be relevant again. He vs Texas Bling is a good prop bet.
8-Stormy Holiday 30-1--Is short of competitive but if things break right think there is value in the bottom slots of super.
1A-Title Contender 5-1--If I had to guess I'd say Gary & Mary West put this one in here to ensure a fast pace for Treasury Bill. Will be in the Tri until the stretch.
9-Oxbow 4-1--Improving every race with a big figures last two that make him a top 3 contender. The trouble is he hasn't shown any ability to rate and this looks to be the fastest route pace he has been in.
10-Super Ninety Nine 3-2--I just don't see how this one doesn't run well.Hasn't missed a tick in Baffert's plan for him and even with the bad post he has shown the ability to rate so maybe he tucks in right behind all the speed.Baffert has 14 wins with 21 starters at Oaklawn and pretty sure some of his losses were because he had 2 in the race and the other won.
Plenty of ways to play this , If just looking for a win bet I'd hope for Treasury Bill to drift a bit and play him at 6-1 or more.In the exotics I think you have to try and beat either Delhomme or Oxbow.

#1880Gulfstream Race 5---Might just be a stab 6-Killin Them Softly 8-1 but Wildcat Heir usually gets some improvement when his offspring get moved to turf for the first time and if that happens this one can win.Comment -

I ask the above because I have a friend who plays pick 4's and he uses all buttons in uncertain races, his logic is simple, he says that when he is uncertain he plays all because he wants the unplayable longshot to win, thus delivering a larger prize.
I am not saying that you had uncertainty with any particular race in the sequence, I have no way of knowing your mindset as you structured your bet, but dependent on the field size of the races involved it may be upon conditions prudent to sometimes wheel entire races.
Of note, the friend I speak of also applies the same logic to his superfecta wagers with regards towards 2nd, 3rd and 4th finish positions, he does this most often when he likes something long on top and he has some sort of key under, again, he says that any horse in the field can be 2nd, 3rd or 4th.
His typical pick 4 might look something like (1,2 with 1,2,3 with 2 with ALL), and his super might look like (1 with 2 with ALL with ALL) he also hedges his supers sometimes with the second ticket (1 with ALL with 2 with ALL).
I have personally seen this guy hit some very large payouts, conversely I have also seen him blow his roll, as with all speculation, it is a double edged sword, it cuts in both directions.Comment -

#1889it would of cost 6.oo per horse to add ..........basically you just multiply the numbers .....than divide by 2 since its a .50 cent for example 2x3x4x8 +192 divide 2 96......i generally dont get into the all the ticket felt right.....even the 1 in the first leg ...ihad a reason....his first race was with oxbow........ it was a bad beat...the horse that won was 8-1 in the book.........and opened as the favorite in all pools.....yea i could of it a few more numbers.....but we can say that about all races..........now i undrstand that in a tri 6-4-all 6-all-4 i would do that......it just sucked .........What would the calculated cost have been for an all button on the end?
