Thx Rob yw...If you won or lost over BC weekend I wouldn't put to much stock in it.Usually after the card is over you can look at the winners and figure out what you missed but this BC there were a lot of winners that don't make sense from any handicapping angle or on any figures.

Its probably the best book on horse racing written.That being said its outdated now.Back when it was written you could make money in this game just betting the fastest horse.Nowadays that is a road to the poor house.I think in today's game you need to pretty much stay away from anything under 3-1 and concentrate on finding the surprise.
I find the best way to go about doing that is to first know how the track is playing and pick the horse who figures to outperform its speed figures because of it.If its a fair track that doesn't favor speed or closers then you can find the surprise by working out the race shape and figure what horse will outperform its speed figures that way.If the 3 favorites are all speed balls then try to find a price that comes off the pace and vice versa.

nice call on that longshot in the 6th. i had "all" in that race because it looked too difficult. actually had 3 singles on the other legs. if i wasnt such a cheapo i coulda easily had it for more. i think my ticket cost like 2.25 or somethin

Your pick is a claimer having won last two and three of four since new owner. If the new comer is beatable which I doubt as he is clearly the best and fastest here being the perfect horse so far, then a claimer will do it even though the eight is class and has speed also. Thing is there is several claimers here, the one is a quitter besides slow, the nine was claim last race and could show improvement, the three was claimed for 50K and very much alive here on the huge drop. The cheap butt shippper number six could surprise all. your seven is slow and off my ticket which keys 2/358 and 3/258 for tri depending on opening odds. good luck today

The 7 is a tad slow on figures but Rudy usually moves them up considerably 1st off the claim and this is a weird race where I don't think figures will be true to form.The 1 is fastest on my figures but the layoff is troublesome.
