Sorry couldn't get back to you in time but she didn't do much
anyway..As I've said a few times in this thread I don't wager
just cap.. Most of the time of course you're not going to hit
35-1's so if you bet recommend betting a third to a half your
normal bet. I don't feel you get value in the show pool. I'd key
the horse in triples and maybe supers with 3-5 logicals in the
other spots. Some exactas maybe.. Of course all of these is too
much so I kind of like the tri and super strategy the best in this
case.. Thanks for the good word

Hey Jbex I understand you do not wager real $$. But why not put those 1700 points you have to use and bet some in the race book. I mean it's for free and you can have a bit more skin in the game. GO pro and you can turn those points into something. Just a thought.

anyway..As I've said a few times in this thread I don't wager
just cap.. Most of the time of course you're not going to hit
35-1's so if you bet recommend betting a third to a half your

with the top 3 in triples for $6 you get back $202.Maybe you have 3
$2 exactas also and a $3 win bet. Of course this makes the return on
the bet if he wins about 5-1 but the more likely result is 2nd or 3rd
and you'll cash more of those when these horses do run well and the
logicals fill the top 2 spots

i played Venetian for show and win on the way home- caught the race on ipad in the car..i was really surprised it only paid $ 8 for show

i got home and popped in my Dick Mitchell Betting Strategies DVD and he illustrated that playing longshots as place and show bets is for "suckers".
jokingly he said he would "burn our houses down if he caught us betting longshots to show". on top of track takeout you get gouged for another roughly 2/3 of should be profit
his example was a 30:1 shot to win that paid back 5:1 when it should pay back in the 12-15:1 range based on the generality of show is roughly 1/4 of win and place is somewhere in the middle of the two.

The irony of my situation led me to post this as i got 3:1 plus my $ 2 back

I used to get stuff from DM.. possible I even learned about this strategy from
him but not sure. He was a little too mechanical for me with handicapping
methods but structuring wagers and money mgmt I thought he was good if I remember
correctly. Also mark cramer, James Quinn, Steve Davidovitz are all good reads. Liked
Beyer on Speed (his last one I believe) also.. Glad able to help
