A -0.5 bet is a regulation only bet. So if the team I bet wins it in 3 periods (No OT or SO) I win. If the game goes to OT my bet is a loss.

I like using regulation bets as they save you a lot of chalk when betting favorites.

It's not quite the same way in football (soccer) where -0.5 is similar to the ML. -0.5 in hockey typically is 'after 60 minutes'. So if there is a win in OT or shootout, the -0.5 won't hit because it was for regulation. This is not always the case, but most often the case; in the shootout-era NHL, I don't know anywhere that has the -0.5 that's not regulation time, but you may want to read into it at your book.

I'm pretty pumped up. Preseason has gone well, but it still doesn't feel like hockey's back quite yet.

I hope so, but it's very hard to goto the show two years in a row.

They definitely need to show more grit though if they plan on making a deep run again this year and hope Lou gets hurt right before playoffs start

I think its going to be more difficult. Imagine if they meet the Hawks again in the playoffs! Very possible. I am not a huge rivalry guy, and I dislike the Wings and Blues far more, but still that would be fun and intense.

So far, I feel pretty good about my Blackhawk's chances.

Hawks will be a strong team again this year. Love the rivalry VAN and CHI have developed over the last 3 years. The Hawks are in my top 3 most hated teams now

I started playing Chelsea Dagger when I win bets just to make me hate it less and to not be reminded of the playoff atrocities my Nucks have suffered against the Hawks the last few years

I am visualizing a person doing this and its making me laugh. My parents went to Vancouver the year the Hawks won the cup and my dad wore a Buff jersey around. He said the people were nothing but nice. They loved it up there. I would like to move there myself.

Yeah most people are nice, there are a lot of jackasses too but nothing different than any other sports city. Byfuglien is a pretty hated guy in VAN I'm surprised your dad wasn't heckled
