I've been a Blackhawks fan for over 20 years, probably longer than you've been alive and kicking, so calm the heck down. The only thing that's for certain this season is that the Canucks' playoff run will be a short one yet again. They are still the weakest team in the league mentally, so it doesn't really matter what kind of talent they have. Just look at the Washington Capitals for more evidence of that. Another soft team stacked with talent that doesn't ever make any noise in the postseason.

PS, it doesn't really matter where the Hawks finish this year because they just won the cup, which is something

The hawks won with a bunch of Flyers cast-a-ways..Patrick Sharp and Ben Eager....did you relaize Patrick Kane would have been a Flyer if Betmen didnt decide he wanted to emulate the NBA and hold a "lottery"? the Hawks were lucky..lucky..luck bastards last year....who were holding thier breath hoping not to choke away a 2-0 series lead
Props to you for winning but dont hold your breath because your more likely to see the Bulls win another Championship before the Hawks will

DG, forgive me for coming in your thread to chime in on this, but as a Hawks fan I thought I'd give my 2 cents..

First and foremost, saying Vancouver is "overhyped" this year is completely innaccurate. It is a brand new season. Vancouver has the experience and the personnel to win the Cup this year, and they are my pick to do so. Just because they didn't win the Cup the last two years doesn't mean they are choke artists. You can't win every year. They are still a top NHL team, and I definitely don't want to see the Hawks draw them in the playoffs again...

Second, just because the Hawks lost a chunk of players last year doesn't mean they aren't going to contend again. They won last year because of their defense. Losing Niemi and replacing him with Turco is not a big deal. Huet was 26-14, with a 2.50 GAA last year, and he is the worst goalie I have ever seen. The Hawks are also off to a slow start because their "core" group have been playing poorly. It isn't the new guys.

It doesn't matter who won last year, how teams played last year, who is replacing who, etc etc. The Cup isn't won in October, nor do they automatically give it to the team that won before.

Sorry about the rant.
