Talbot v. Backstrom. Talbot makes just his 9th start with Lundqvist slumping. Talbot has two shutouts to his credit in those starts, but generally is good for giving up a couple goals minimum. Backstrom got blasted for five goals against Pittsburgh last time out. He has now allowed at least three goals in three straight starts and at least two goals in eight of his last nine starts overall. NYR have played to at least five goal totals in 11 of their last 13. 10/16 @ MSG have now hit OVERs, including nine straight that have hit at least five goals for a push. The Rangers have given up four goals or more in seven of their last nine overall. Minnesota certainly isn't a juggernaut, so we'll see if it's all Lundqvist or the NYR D being pretty soft lately as well.

Lundavist v. Thomas. Lundy now has a streak of eight straight starts where he has given up at least three goals. Florida is anything but an offensive juggernaut, but the Panthers have scored at least three in six of their last nine. Thomas has been better of late, allowing two goals or less in three straight. The Rangers may have his number though as they have lit him up for eight goals in two starts this season. NYR have played to five goals or more in 9/10, while FLA has played to five or more in five straight and 8/10.

Smith has given up at least two goals in nine of his last ten with five of those seeing him give up three or more. At home, PHX has been an OVERs beacon with 12 of 15 hitting over the posted total. EDM is 11 of 21 on the road in cashing OVERs.
