Both are good, up-and-coming goalies. I believe Coreau is much better at this stage in their careers.
Nice Analysis. You could be right but Dell has the advantage of playing behind a much better team in SJ and Its hard for me to back a goalie with a bad team in front of him

1-2 . BOS blew a 4-1 and then 5-4 lead. Brutal beat. I see a lot of good opportunities on today's card and am going to try some new things

      19-17 +.5 Units

      Jan. 19th
      - New York Islanders (-110)
      - New York Rangers (+115)
      - Nashville Predators (+120)
      - Tampa Bay Lightning (+120)
      - Minnesota Wild -1.5 (+105)
      - Anaheim Ducks -1.5 (+115)

      - NYI return home to face DAL team at the tail end of their 3 game east coast trip following a crazy win at the NYR. NYI are coming off a nice 4-0 victory over BOS, but also their coach being fired. I find the timing odd, because why would you fire a coach after one of the teams more impressive victories of the season? I think they might have tried some new things in the last game that the coach might have not agreed with, and when they succeeded the management decided in was time to move on. I expect the NYI to come out strong in this one and score some goals on very shaky DAL goaltending who has given up 16 in their last 3.

      - At some point this NYR team is going to turn it around and I think it might happen tonight in TOR. They are coming off 3 straight losses with incredibly bad defense/goaltending but this team is much better than that. They are still the better power rated team than TOR and getting them at a plus price is a good value right now. Its a good time to buy low on the NYR because at some point they are going to turn it around.

      - NSH definitely disappointed me the other night not being able to score against VAN. They are in a difficult spot here but I think they hang with CLG tonight. I still have NSH power rated higher on my rankings and Rinne is equal to if not better than Johnson. Theres also a chance they start Saros in which case I really like NSH tonight and the under. Getting a plus price is a nice value for a CLG team that is likely being overvalued following a 5-2 win over FLA.

      - TB continues their 2 week road trip at SJ tonight. They have been impressive so far with a win over the LAK, and grabbing a point against ANA on a b2b. SJ is coming off a nice win @ LAK and I think TB has a nice chance to squeak out a win facing a team high off a nice win against their biggest rival on a B2B. TB has been a much stronger team after a few injured players came back for them last week and their first 2 games of their road trip are a good indication they are hungry to climb back in the standings. I like the way they look and getting a plus price against a team on a B2B is always a solid play.

      - I don't play pucklines often but I really like MIN and ANA tonight. They are facing the two worst teams in the league in ARI and COL, not to mention ARI is on a B2B @ MIN. In this same situation a month ago, MIN beat ARI 4-1 and I expect a big effort from MIN following that terrible loss to NJ. Meanwhile ANA has been super strong defensively lately and beat COL 4-1 last week on the road. I expect a shut down effort on their end as well.
      - ARI and COL have the worst GF/GA ratios in the league, both over -1 per game. Meanwhile MIN has one of the best at +1.07, and ANA has a respectable +.15. The fact that the odds are so low for a puckline are a good sign that they are fairly likely to happen. We only need one to cash but I see the potential for both to win tonight.

A lot of plays tonight. Likely going to make or break me.

Can't wait for that Toronto/NYR game. The Ducks PL makes sense. I have it at 4-1. BOL on your plays.

            Jan 20th

            - Carolina Hurricanes (+110)
            - New Jersey Devils (+105)
            - Vancouver Canucks (-105)

            - CAR comes into this game against PIT off a loss to CBJ. They return home where they are 15-5 this season including wins in their last 4 games. Meanwhile PIT is in a bit of a trap spot after big wins over WSH and MTL. In their only meeting of the season in Pittsburgh, CAR outshot the Penguins 46-26 losing on a late goal in the 3rd period. While Carolina has one of the worst road records in the NHL, losing more money than any other team, they have been great at home and I expect to see a strong effort here against a team they dominated in the first outing.

            - NJD are definitely an unusual pick for myself. However with my road favorites losing me the most money, I'm starting to look more at home dogs that are in good positions to win. NJD aren't even remotely close to MTL in my power ratings. They are one of the bottom 5 teams in the league but tonight I think they have a good opportunity to get the win. The Devils are coming off their strongest road trip of the year, grabbing 7 out of a possible 8 points. They had strong wins against CLG and MIN in that span against all odds. The main reason I like them tonight is the way they have been playing defensively lately. Earlier in the season, NJ was an over team flying under the radar but since the new year they have turned back to their old ways, and it has been much more successful for them. They've only allowed 18 goals in their 9 games in the new year (16 minus OT) while only losing 2 of those games in regulation. Meanwhile MTL has struggled to score goals against mediocre goal tending in their last 2. In both my previous posts I talked about how DET and PIT had given up a ton of goals recently. And yet, MTL had 1 goal in 2 games vs those teams. That doesn't look good now going up against a team that has been emphazing defense. Combine that with the fact that MTL is starting Montoya tonight so NJD will be able to score and we have a play

            - In the most evenly matched game of the night, we have FLA @ VAN for a showdown of below average teams that only die hard Canucks fans will be watching. I went back and forth on this one and probably should stay off it, BUT i decided I like VAN. FLA is in the middle of a Western road trip which is always tough for a team from the east coast. Although they played EDM strong on a B2B, this is their 3rd game in 4 nights and its just really hard for me to bet them in this spot. Another huge edge I see is in the home/road differentials of these teams. VAN is one of the worst teams in the league but is 16-9 at home while FLA is just 9-15 on the road. Also, when you look closely VAN has actually been a very impressive team in the month of JAN. Theyve lost only 1 game in regulation, and grabbed 9 of 10 points at home in that span. We saw them take down another team on a west coast trip the other night and If they can shutdown NSH they should be able to handle a tired FLA team.

Wow, someone else crazy enough to go with the Devils! I like the analysis, makes me feel a bit more confident since I'm not a fan of my model's pick but I often disagree with it and it usually proves me wrong. BOL to us. Might tail for a dollar on the other two also.

                  - I really don't like what I've seen from BOS in the past 2 games. Obviously the DET loss was terrible but getting shut out 4-0 by the NYI is definitely concerning. They are in a tough spot here returning to play a much higher caliber team in CHI. While CHI has not been playing very well either lately, I think there is enough value at +145 to pull out a tough win in BOS who is only 10-11 at home this season. This is a very even game and while BOS's recent struggles I don't think they are deserving of a -160 favorite vs CHI.

                      - Despite recent struggles, STL is still the better team. I can't trust either team's goaltending right now so I expect a high scoring game today. STL did have a nice road trip last week and beat 2 much better teams than WPG in SJ, and ANA. Lets look for that to continue here today.

                      - That's all for sides today. Have about 4-5 games I'm betting o5.5 at plus money today so lets hope for a goal filled saturday

1-1 29-26 +.9 Units. Big slate before the All-Star break

I'm trying some new things with my handicapping. I'm going to be leaning more towards picking a lot of dogs/small favorites going forward focusing on recent play and goal-tending.

                                      Jan 26th

                                      - New York Islanders (+110)
                                      - Pittsburgh Penguins (+125)
                                      - Tampa Bay Lightning (+100)

                                      - The NYI have very quietly had an impressive 2 weeks since the firing of their coach. They have grabbed 9 out of a possible 10 points and beat quality teams in BOS, LA, and CLB. They've been playing much more defensive hockey lately only allowing 1.4 GPG in that span including 2 shut outs. Price has rebounded nicely in the last 2 games but Greiss is one the hottest goalies in the NHL and I like them at a plus price.

                                      - PIT is a fairly easy play for me here. With the exception of the other night, PIT has been one of the hottest teams in the nhl since last weeks crazy win vs WSH. Matt Murray is the clear no 1 goalie right now and has only allowed 1.5 GPP over his last 4. Meanwhile BOS has been giving up goals in bunches and Rask has been unimpressive. PIT dominated them earlier this week and BOS isn't great at home. PIT +125

                                      - The TBL have been somewhat impressive lately with the exception of a trap spot loss @ ARI last week. I think they might have finally realized that Vasilevskiy is the better goalie and they are starting him again tonight. He has great numbers recently and when you combine that with the fact that FLA is in a tough spot returning home from that west coast trip, we have a strong play for cheap.
