Had some time today so wanted to do quick write ups along with the picks.
Penguins/Panthers Under 1.5 1st Period - -140 0.7u
Penguins were pathetic in Nashville and I was really impressed with Panthers in the opening of the season. I'm not 100% sure on the total of this game as if it opens up there is just too much quality on show and with Luo not starting I don't want to risk the full 60 mins, so hence the under in the first period. Fleury will be better, if Crosby doesn't start and it doesn't open up too early I can see this being 0-0 at the end of the first... If it opens up 2-2!
Flames/St Louis Under 5.5 -120 1.2u
Flames were decent last night, had them to win and the managed it just about. This game is going to be 3-0, 4-0 Blues. Flames are terrible at scoring on Back to back games. In 2015/16 season the Flames were 9-3 on B2B games and the under 5.5 was 7-5. Blues in their last game still allowed 4 goals against Flames but today they are more defensive from the start. On top of that Elliot knows the Blues so shouldn't allow many too early but think gets broken down after 20/25 shots.

As I mentioned above Flames were 9-3 on B2B games last season. They had a late one in Chi town last night and won't be quick from the start. If Allen was in goal and Elliott wasn't this would be a 3u play.
Sabres/Flyers Under 5.5 -125 1.25u
Sabres win a close one as long as Nillson doesn't break. This would be a 2u play if Sabres had a better goalie but with my lean on Sabres and Neuvirth in goal at the other end I don't see how this gets to 6. 2-1 Sabres in reg, something like that.

Okay let's break this down. Sabres lost their last game against Nucks 2-1. But they probably should have won it. Flyers are on a B2B, last year they were 5-10 on B2B games. Both of these reasons mixed with a good price of +130 and a long rest for Sabres = a 2unit play. The 2 things I am slightly worried about - Which is why this play is a 2u play instead of a 3u one is Nillson as previously mentioned and also if Flyers start fast and get an early goal. If its 0-0 after the 1st I think Sabres take this 2-1 in reg.
Devils/Yotes Under 5.0 -115 1.15u
Crazy line getting minus money on an under 5 but I think its still got value. I mean just look at the last few games of the Devils, Cory Schneider has been a monster! They held wild to 1 goal, held Bruins to 2 goals. I can't see Yotes scoing more than once. And obviously Devils haven't scored all that much either.... Yotes have been a strange one, scoring 2 in their last 3 games. If you were brave and wanted a max bet then Yotes Under 2.5 would be it, but at -175 there is no value. Game will probably finish 3-1, at worse will be a push 3-2.

Moneyline was just too juiced but I think Devils win a close one as the write up above.
Lightning/Leafs - Lightning ML / Lightning in reg - Lightning ML -135 1.35u + Lightning in reg +125 1uLeafs are better than last season don't get me wrong. But only -130 against this leafs team? The lightning are a cup contender and are hot. Leafs are not. The only reason I don't put more on this game is Anderson, I like him as a goalie and I know he's been struggling I think he does alright tonight. Something like 3-1 Lightning.
Wild/Bruins - Wild ML -125 1.25u
Gonna be a close game. My reasoning - Wild goalie is better, Wild offence is fierce. That's it.
Stars/Jets - Stars ML / Stars in reg (Stars in reg +110 1u / Stars TT Over 3.5 +140 0.5u)
Similar to my lightning/leafs write up. Jets no good, Stars a great deep team. But my reason for playing Stars in this situation is they lost 3-0 to a CBJ that in all fairness played well in that game. BUT Stars won 66% of FOs and out-shot Columbus 32-26. Can't see how they don't score at least 3 in this game, probably 4. Niemi starting should be enough to cover for the regulation win.
