Hamilton out for Devils with broken jaw, no timeline for return

Dougie Hamilton is out for the New Jersey Devils because of a broken jaw. There is no timeline for the return of the defenseman, who will have surgery Wednesday.

Hamilton will be placed on injured reserve retroactive to Sunday, when he was taken to a hospital after getting hit with a deflected puck 7:05 into the first period of a 4-3 overtime win at the Washington Capitals.

Things went from bad to worse for the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, as the slumping team lost its captain to pandemic protocol.
Connor McDavid missed practice in Toronto after he tested positive for COVID-19.
Centre Derek Ryan also tested positive. Both were being tested again.

For those north of the border, that equates to minus-26 degrees Celsius.
That's getting close to frostbite stuff. Puck will be had as a rock, and the acoustics of the passing will be nice and loud and crisp!

Almost pulled it off. Habs lead 4-3 until Lightning tied it with 20 seconds left in regulation. Big 3 point night for Brayden Point. He scored Tampa Bay's first 2 goals, assisted on the tying goal and won the draw on the overtime winner, scored just 36 seconds in to added time.

I'm glad I stayed away from this Sharks game because I surely would've gone under the total in this one. Of course they score 14 goals through 3 periods which is nuts for the Sharks and Coyotes to do.

The NHL will re-implement taxi squads and other roster revisions as the league struggles with current COVID-19 team outbreaks, The Associated Press reported.
According to the new provisions, any club is allowed to have a taxi squad of up to six players and can make emergency recalls to the minor league if COVID-19 absences would cause anyone to play without a full lineup.

The NHL announced that it will not resume its regular season until at least Tuesday.
The NHL and NHL Players' Association agreed to begin their holiday break this past Wednesday due to the number of players and teams impacted by COVID-19. The original plan was to begin games again on Monday.

Juniors pivoting upcoming world champ tourney to bubble.

Owen Power remains at Michigan after Sabres pick.

If Canada should win, Power could become first player ever to win gold in both the worlds and the world juniors prior to NHL playing debut.
