Thank goodness I'm struggling betting hockey down the stretch so maybe the playoffs will bring me more success with better teams playing.

    Whoa! It's a Double Aho!
Both NHL players named Sebastian Aho — one a defenseman for the New York Islanders, the other a forward for the Carolina Hurricanes — scored goals for their teams Thursday night.
And at nearly the exact same time.

    Toews is a class act.
Bobrovsky in net for the Panthers again and he's allowed at least 3 goals in his last 4 starts. Mind you, he's made some unreal saves in those games also. Florida really have their offense going now. They outshot the Sens something like 50-20 a couple games ago in their 4-3 victory in Ottawa. For those reasons, I am on the over in this one myself.

    I see a 5-4 or 5-3 game here. o7+101

    Go Hawks!

    Good luck man!

Calgary lost 2-1 a couple nights ago after winning 9-5 against Edmonton on Saturday. Tonight they take on LAK who played in Edmonton last night. Look for the Flames to take it out on the Kings tonight. 7-2 Flames.

    Colorado Avalanche

Nathan MacKinnon will return for the Avalanche against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday (9 p.m. ET, coach Jared Bednar said.
The center did not play in a 2-1 win against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday because of an upper-body injury. Bednar said Tuesday that the injury could have resulted from MacKinnon's fight with Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba in the third period of a 3-2 overtime loss Sunday and that there was no timetable for his return.
"I haven't talked to Nate yet, it was a pretty quick turnaround for him," Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar said Tuesday. "Hopefully it's not something super serious, but at the end of the day, when you lose a key guy on our team like that, that's not going to be easy to fill the role."
MacKinnon has been limited to 51 games this season because of injuries. He has scored 70 points (22 goals, 48 assists) and was fourth on the Avalanche in scoring and first in points per game (1.37).

My Canucks are done after last night. It was a decent run after the coaching change but they just didn't have the players and the games left to jump past so many teams. But they were much more entertaining to watch which gives me optimism for next season.

Ya I know they aren't mathematically eliminated and they do play LVK back to back starting Sunday which are one of the teams they are chasing and if they sweep those two games, the belief will once again heighten. But just like a 17-year old virgin in the back seat of a Cadillac getting his first hand job, it won't last long.

Nucks have one of the best Goalies in the NHL. JT Miller is the heart and soul of the team. Hughes can skate like no one else and Petterssen is pretty good also. Rutherford will make some moves in the off season. Hopefully Boesner can be packaged in a deal along. The future looks bright in Vancouver even when its cloudy and drizzling for weeks at a time.

Mrazek injured during Maple Leafs game against Bruins

    Goalie leaves in first period

Petr Mrazek left the game in the first period after the Toronto Maple Leafs goalie was injured against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Tuesday.

Mrazek allowed one goal on four shots before leaving with a groin injury 7:44 into the game. Goalie Erik Kallgren entered in relief and completed the 6-4 win at TD Garden.
"It's tough," Maple Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe said. "Obviously we already have Jack [Campbell] out. To see that is tough. He was getting some traction here and had been playing well, so it's tough. But he's been through these kinds of things before. We don't know the severity of it. We'll have a greater sense of what the situation is in the coming days, but it looks like he's going to miss some time."
Mrazek was starting for the third time in four games after not playing since March 13. He was 12-6-0 with a 3.31 goals-against average and an .890 save percentage.
Campbell has not played since March 8 because of a rib injury.
Jason San Antonio was the emergency backup. The 31-year-old played three seasons for Bryant University (2011-14).

Clutterbuck out for season for Islanders, will have shoulder surgery

Forward agreed to two-year contract Monday; defenseman Mayfield sidelined 4-6 Cal Clutterbuck is out the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, and Scott Mayfield is out 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury for the New York Islanders.

"They're very important," Islanders coach Barry Trotz said Thursday. "This is the National Hockey League; there's guys that are going to go down, it's got to be the next-man-up mentality. It's opportunities for other guys. But they're both big pieces in our room, both big pieces especially on the penalty kill and in late-game situations, defensive situations. Those are as good as we have."
Clutterbuck needs to have surgery. He scored 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 59 games and led Islanders forwards in shorthanded ice time per game (2:00). He hadn't played since March 19.
The 34-year-old agreed to a two-year contract Monday. He could have become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
"They're key players for us," New York forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau said. "They're both players that bring a physical aspect [to] our game, which is in our game plan every night. They're two leaders, not only on the ice but off the ice, so we're going to need to find a way to get going before games for sure."
Mayfield, a defenseman, was injured blocking a shot in the final minute of a 3-0 win against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday. He scored a goal and had an assist in the game.
The 29-year-old scored 18 points (three goals, 15 assists) in 61 games. He was tied with defenseman Adam Pelech for the Islanders lead in shorthanded ice time per game (2:18).
"It's never fun, obviously," Pageau said. "I don't think [Mayfield] knew until after the game. Obviously, when you block a shot, it can go either way. He scores a big goal for us, I think he felt good. X-rays showed something different. It's tough on the mind of the player, tough on teammates. I never want to see a guy go down. We're going to have to hope that it's going to be a quick recovery. He's going to miss us for sure. He's a big part of this group."
The Islanders (28-25-9) are scheduled to end the regular season against the Tampa Bay Lightning on April 29, about five weeks from now.
"Other guys are going to have to develop their game to hopefully [be] better in some of those areas and take on those minutes," Trotz said. "It's going to be some guys that haven't gotten those minutes, this is a real good opportunity for them."

Speaking of Canucks, I have a feeling they get another surprise win in Minnesota tonight, even though the back-to-back doesn't help them. Canucks are 6-2 in their last 8 meetings in Minnesota...... I do like what the Wild team has going towards the playoffs.... so maybe this hunch about tonight is wrong. But another wildcard (pun intended Wild) is coach Boudreau who was with the Wild prior to Vancouver.

As for another coaching motivation potential angle for tonight, Vegas coach Pete DeBoer home game for career game 1000 as a Head Coach tonight as they host the Predators.
