Great job by Halak last night limiting league leading Avalanche to 1 goal in the third as Canucks prevail 3-1. Boeser contributed to the offense with a 2 point night.

Dadonov trade to Ducks by Golden Knights invalidated by NHL

Forward's limited no-trade clause was not complied with, League says

Evgenii Dadonov's trade to the Anaheim Ducks by the Vegas Golden Knights was invalidated by the NHL on Wednesday, two days after it was completed.

The NHL said in a statement the trade could not be concluded because Dadonov's contract included a limited no-trade clause that had not been complied with.
"We respect and accept the decision made today by the NHL with regard to our trade with Vegas on Monday," Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek said. "Evgenii Dadonov is a player we thought could help our team this year and beyond."
Dadonov signed a three-year, $15 million contract ($5 million average annual value) with the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 15, 2020, a deal which included the limited no-trade clause.
He was traded to the Golden Knights by the Senators for defenseman Nick Holden and a third-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft on July 28, 2021. Dadonov can become an unrestricted free agent after next season.
Dadonov has scored 27 points (15 goals, 12 assists) in 62 games this season. He is tied for third on the Golden Knights in goals with forwards Max Pacioretty and Chandler Stephenson.
"The Vegas Golden Knights recognize the league's decision and welcome Evgenii back to our club," Vegas said on Twitter.
Vegas had received defenseman John Moore, forward Ryan Kesler and a conditional second-round pick in the 2023 or 2024 NHL Draft in the trade for Dadonov.
"We will move forward and welcome John Moore to our organization once he's healthy and ready to return," Verbeek said.
Selected by the Florida Panthers in the third round (No. 71) of the 2007 NHL Draft, Dadonov has scored 249 points (119 goals, 130 assists) in 397 regular-season games with the Panthers, Senators and Golden Knights. He has one assist in four Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Doughty could be out rest of regular season for Kings with injury

Defenseman last played March 7, has scored 31 points in 39 games

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Drew Doughty could be out for the rest of the regular season, Los Angeles Kings general manager Rob Blake said Monday.

The defenseman hasn't played since March 7 because of an upper-body injury.
"It's a little early to say," Blake said. "I think we'll exhaust every option possible. I mean, he's out there skating now but not participating in drills and things. That'll be an assessment with the doctor in the next few days to understand the next step to see if he can come back and play."

The former 30-goal scorer's numbers dropped off with the emergence of the Ducks' younger players. That should pick up in Pittsburgh if he plays with Evgeni Malkin. Ducks GM Pat Verbeek ended up trading four of his unrestricted free agents. The Ducks will get forwards Zach Aston-Reese and Dominik Simon, goaltender Calle Clang and a 2022 second-round draft pick for Rakell.

Frank Vatrano has been dealt from the Florida Panthers to the New York Rangers in exchange for a 2022 fourth-round pick. Per the Rangers, the pick exchanging hands “will be the later of the two fourth-round selections the Rangers own (either their own fourth-round pick or Winnipeg’s fourth-round pick).”

LA Kings have a bunch of defense callups playing tonight (Tuesday), with regulars including Doughty out. It seems more obvious that Colorado should win convincingly in LA tonight.

Having said that, Colorado is also missing a couple players.

And a related side note, when you look at how the Kings recently lost 2 games in a row vs the lowly Sharks, but then played Florida tight and stole a win, don't read too much into the Sharks games, it only proved they still have the Kings number, Sharks have dominated the win column H2H vs the Kings
