This is interesting. Buffalo usually plays motivated against the Leafs anyway. I'm not sure if this is a great idea throwing the kid into his first NHL game against a standing rival. It would say a lot about his makeup if he plays and performs well. But I think there is potential downside to the kid's psyche if the Leafs run up the score in the game.

Popcorn and Molson for this game

    Boston Bruins

David Pastrnak will miss his third game for the Bruins when they visit the Washington Capitals on Sunday (TNT, SN360, TVAS, NHL LIVE).
The forward aggravated a previous injury in a 3-2 overtime win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday and did not play in a 5-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday or a 2-1 overtime win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday.
Pastrnak has scored 71 points (38 goals, 33 assists) in 69 games this season.
Hampus Lindholm will miss his second straight game because of a lower-body injury.
The defenseman has four assists in seven games with the Bruins since he was acquired in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks on March 19.
"We were hoping maybe by the end of the week but they are not ready," Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said after practice Saturday.

Owen Power will join the Sabres in Tampa on Saturday and will likely make his NHL debut Tuesday night in Toronto, Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams said Friday.
The Sabres signed Power, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, to a three-year, entry-level contract on Friday afternoon.
"That's kind of the tentative plan," Adams said. "I think it'd be good for him to get on the ice a couple days, be around the guys, he'll watch the game in Tampa and then be ready to go, so we're excited."

They showed a little something over the last month or so. Hopefully they can carry that forward and not start next season stretching and yawning.

In the East, Washington is cemented in the second wild-card spot, 11 points up on the Columbus Blue Jackets and nine back of Boston. The current races are for positioning rather than playoff inclusion as the Leafs, Bruins and Lightning battle for second in the Atlantic, while first in the Metropolitan remains up for grabs.

Normally I'd say Leafs choked, but they really played their hearts out on a late season back to back after Tampa last night.

Remember Yeo was fired by the Blues a few seasons ago when they had the worst record in all of hockey almost halfway through the season. Blues went on a roll and won Stanley Cup after he got fired. Why Yeo is even coaching shows how bad Flyers Comcast/management is. Only thing I like about Flyers is Gritty.

Another way to look at it, if a player isn't good enough to secure his roster spot anymore (or the team wants to have more of a look at some younger players), wouldn't it be manipulated if they let Yandle play for the streak milestone?

A similar situation a happened a couple weeks ago when Phil Kessel started a road game to keep his streak intact, played only for 30 seconds, left the arena, and got on a plane to be with his wife giving birth.

The records and career milestones should happen organically, not manipulated.

The Ducks were leading the Coyotes 5-0 with less than three minutes to play when Zegras and teammate Troy Terry came in on net and tried to slip a puck past goalie Josef Korenar.
That incited Beagle, who cross-checked Zegras in the back. Terry came over to defend Zegras and Beagle (a 6-foot-3, 210-pound center) proceeded to punch Terry (5-11, 185 pounds) repeatedly, until a hit up high sent the Ducks' winger to the ice. Beagle kept going from there, looking for another sparring partner in Cam Fowler before the referees finally sent him off the ice.
Zegras didn't hold back when addressing the incident postgame.
"I think it's embarrassing, I think it's a bad look for the league, and for the player that did it, I think it's a bad look and he should be f---ing punished," Zegras said, according to PHNX Coyotes. "[The puck] was 100 percent loose. I get that you're going to hit me in the back, but you don't punch a guy when he's down, especially a [31]-goal scorer in the NHL who's a superstar."
That was some dirty shit by Beagle .
