Damn first time that I can remember ever forgetting to pay entry fee. I really could have used those winnings to pay a couple loans back that I have out there, but there's No doubt in my mind that if I had paid, I'd have not cashed, and by not paying I was guaranteed to win.
Sometimes life gets in the way. Long story short, about 4 months ago I was very sick for about 9 days, when I finally went to the hospital, they found out that my Colon had perforated, I spent the next 5 days in hospital while Drs. fought off the sepsis (2 out of every 5 die from this). I got very lucky that the antibiotics worked and was then sent home to rest for the next 12 weeks to make my Colon as healthy as possible for surgery. So 3 weeks ago, surgeons went in and removed 1 foot of my damaged colon. There was a pretty good chance that I was gonna have to wear a temporary colostomy bag (6-12 weeks), but Thank God that things went perfectly and surgeons were able to take me apart and put me back together the same day with no bag.
I still have another 6 weeks of recovery but I'm recovering great so far. A lot of good has come out of my close call, I'm healthier than I've been in over 10 years. I lost 44 lbs in last 4 months (I don't recommend losing it the way I did) but this wake up call saved my life in more ways than one. Listen to your body, don't be some idiot like me and wait 9 days to find out what's wrong, just to prove you're some tough guy. I told my Dr that if I ever stump my toe, I'll make a appointment right away.

I slipped and fell heavily on my knee that was twisted the wrong way as well earlier today. I thought I had done serious damage, like broken something or torn muscle off bone straight after but the intense pain died down a lot after a few minutes.
Hobbling through airports on the way home tonight seems to have really done it no good. I was going to just wait a few days and see what happens but then I thought about you saying this and decided I am going to see the doc on Monday..Comment -
