I think Rice's QB got hurt. Not sure, but something caused them to go for 24 in the first half and 0 after that.

I'm not really worried about Boise doing much against MSU's defense, which has five NFL-caliber players (Gholston, Lewis, Adams, Bullough, Allen).

Just a little hesitant because it's Maxwell's first start and I'm not crazy about their receivers. Benny Fowler's going to have to take a big step forward this year, as is Dion Sims at TE.

I give Boise a lot of credit. To get outgained the way they did (look at the total yards and first downs) and to cover on the road in an environment like that says something. Impressive.

Wasn't brilliant by any means. Laying that kind of juice is never brilliant.

Game played out about like I figured it would -- MSU just didn't do quite as much offensively. Doesn't surprise me that BSU couldn't move the ball consistently on this defense.

I have still have yet to make a bet. Every year I go nuts the first weekend in start in a hole.

Keeping tally in my head, I would be 2-2 right now.

I think my first bet should be Illinois -10 for obvious reasons. I also like Ohio and Youngstown State. I am a little bit biased toward Ohio though. Their starting RB and QB are both from Norman, OK. I'll probably just start with Illinois and go from there.
