    FSU Thursday night
East Carolina put up over 375 passing yards managing to win the game having given up 4 turnovers

FSU allowed less than 100 yards passing to Boston college and really played a bad game

ponder played hurt , (right elbow ) giving up 3 ints

FSU takes advantage of a bad secondary in NC state

    CINCY -310 yards passing

Nc state is no slouch to giving up rushing yards allowing over 200 yards to both Va Tech and Georgia tech

College injury report list PONDER as Probable
Senior QB Christian Ponder burst the bursa sac in his right elbow against Boston College, but he is probable for NC State (10/28). Ponder has thrown for just under 1200 yards so far this season (12 touchdowns).

If ponder plays this game -
    Im taking FSU by 13

State always shows up for these games. Don't look to much into the ECU game, it is a huge Rivalry.

            East Carolina = Did count
            Look at the box score
Ec put up 21 in the first Q
Nc bounced back 21 in the 2nd Q
after that Ec shute em down
I like FSU especially being a rival game

As a team ECU is averaging over 300 passing yards/game and the NC State defense did not defend that pass well at all or for the year against passing dominant teams. Boston college does not have much of an offense at all, so I hope you are not making the assumption that FSU will hold NC State to 100 yards passing, the BC and NC State passing offense are not even comparable to each other. The game is at home for NC State and they have the "huge" homefield advantage. I expect for the NC State d-line to get to Ponder often and put some pressure on him. But, their ultimate weakness will be on defense and it is possible that FSU may not have to throw much at all. The last time FSU has had its d backs tested was when they played Oklahoma and allowed 380 yards in the air and 4 td's. Look for Wilson to rebound off of his worst game of the season against ECU.

Im not a journalist or anything so im always going to leave it half full\
                but check the stats yourself
that meant boston college was held to less by FSU than Nc state allowed
                nc state allowed 173 passing
so for a team that doesnt do a lot of passing like boston college sure did do well against nc state

as a matter of fact it seems everyone does well above their season average against nc state
so stating Nc state is bad on defense is stating the least
I see a qb bouncing back but it wont be wilson
best of luck with your selection

In my opinion, that doesn't matter at all. I've lost so many games looking at stats like that I've finally learned my lesson. Hoping Ponder is healthy and the over hits. GL!

I took the over 59 gonna lay off the side although fsu probably gets it done but I really think the over is the best play with both qbs looking to sling it and turnovers leading to quick scores both have been throwing ints lately

look at the spreads for those games. the smallest one was FSU -9'. apples to oranges, i say, particularly when both coaching staffs have turned over in the past 3+ years. O'Brien hasn't beaten FSU during his tenure, and this might be the best that FSU has looked during that time period. if NCSU doesn't get the win, the margin of error to get the cover is rather slim.

Lots of factors in this one, I am leaning NCST because of Ponder right now, also missing a starting guard on that line could help out NCST. All in all FSU has looked good on the road lately but NCST will be in rebound mode here

I wouldn't look too much into Ponder's "injury". A bersa sac is not that big of a deal...and he had a bye week to recover. FSU rolls tonight!!

FSU 13th in the nation in scoring defense
                                      30 sacks
they really get after the QB

traditionally this is always a very hard game for FSU

TALLAHASSEE -- After sitting out last week with an injured elbow, quarterback Christian Ponder returned to practice Saturday.
After throwing for the past few days, Ponder said the elbow is still a ``little sore,'' but the injury has forced him to improve his mechanics.
``I think it's actually become a blessing in disguise,'' Ponder said Monday morning. ``I'm starting to use my core more, which is something I got away from this year.''
Ponder said he is now throwing the ball better than he has all year. Coach Jimbo Fisher agreed with him after Monday's practice.
``It took him off his heels a little bit, and getting back on the balls of his feet and getting his legs and getting that bounce back to him,'' Fisher said.

FSU's offense has already seen three defenses that are much better than NC State's defense. This unit is battle tested and shouldn't have to do anything outside of its comfort level to move the ball on this NC State defense that quite frankly is a bit of a fraud. NC State ranks in the 50's in yards/play, but is 6th in the country in 3rd down defense and top-15 in turnover defense? FSU is a patient offense that won't press and it probably move the ball on NC State by doing whatever NC State dares it to do.

FSU throws 30 times for 230 yards and rushes 45 times for 215 yards. That's 445 yards on 75 plays, or 6 yards per play.

While FSU's projected 6 yards per play is only a slight edge over NC State's projected 5.9 per play, FSU has a major special teams advantage in its kickoff and punt teams. That special teams advantage will translate into better field position and thus FSU will make better use of its offensive yards.

FSU should win this game in a close one

FSU should definitely win this game, but I am always cautious betting on them... you just never know which team is going to show up

i like the +4 points on nc state in this home game. it should be a close one with FL St winning if Ponder is able to play the whole game. If he goes down then State will roll. Too many question marks in this game for me to put any money on it.

Im siding with NC State and the points. NC State comes in covering 8 out of the last 10 years and Florida State has not seen a home crowd that will be as lively as what they will face tonight since they played at Oklahoma. FSU has the edge defensively in the front 7 but Wilsons mobility should buy a little more time to get the throws off. Ponder has had a disappointing year considering the hype was very high coming into this season and with a injured elbow he could be in for another rough night. NC State ranks 9th in sacks so the FSU boys wont be the only ones coming after the QB.

I throw both teams recent games to BC and ECU out the window. NC State was more than likely looking ahead to this week and they were caught by an ECU team that would rather beat an ACC school (Especially NCSU or UNC) than win a bowl game in most cases. FSU was coming off a domination of Miami on national tv and couple that with a hurt Ponder and they were also due for a let down.

Similar teams with similar strengths is the reason the line is close sitting at 4.

My Call: The home field, recent history of playing the Noles close and a gimpy Ponder give the edge to the Pack in a high scoring affair. NCSU +4
