The key in this game is the emergence of Brian Ellis for UAB. In the last two weeks he has thrown for 733 yards, and that was against Troy and Tennessee. (Troy's defense was pretty impressive tonight vs Dasher). If you're looking at UAB's schedule, go ahead and throw out the FAU game, since Ellis didn't play in that game. Bottom line: UAB has something cooking with the combo of Ellis in the pocket and Isabelle on the scramble, short-down yardage. Granted, UCF has a great defense and they will probably cause some problems. However, the main offensive playmakers for UCF in last year's win vs UAB are both gone (Hodges gone and Harvey injured). I am NOT SCARED of Calabrese or Godfrey for UCF. I'm a little scared of Guyton anywhere on the field, but that's gambling.
These two coaches have met four years in a row and all games have been pretty tight relative to tomorrow's line. Look for UAB to still be pumped after shock 2OT near-miracle against Tennesse in Knoxville. But UCF wins by 7-10 points.
Risky game here, and unless you're a hard-core addict I'd stay away. But for those of us who can't........
UAB +13 (if you wait until kickoff you'll probably get +13.5 or +14)
