hilton is good for getting comped off your sports bets

i usually wager 500-1000 a game there and always present my card before making the transaction

for table games however, i am a mid-to-high limit player at grazie casinos (venetian/palazzo) and i get comped there generously

for example for the super bowl i received the whole weekend comped in one of their suites, my own private table at their sportsbook and food/drink comp tickets for myself and friends


what i am wondering is if i play at the smaller casinos, will i get comped more for my play? since i will be a higher norm above the average player and will be giving the casino considerable action

You are the one with no clue. If someone is a successful professional gambler with a 4 digit daily income he doesn't need to rely on an all you can eat buffett for his meals. Now a deadbeat loser pro who loses all his money gambling he needs the comps to eat.

I dont know where you gamble John, but I like the Golden nugget. Get CASH, stacks of match promo chips, everything I charge to my room comped, free tickets to everything. The only thing they havent offered and I havent asked is airfare. I love the Nugget and they take care of me! The best thing about the Nug is that the limits are lower than the strip properties. That is a big thing for me. I play double deck BJ and start at $25 per hand and play two hands. I work up to 200-400 a hand for about 20-30hours over a week. That gets me about anything I want.

I have fliers right now for Nascar tickets, $750 cash 750 in promo chips and all kinds of tourneys.

Beau Rivage is good about the airfare. They also give me $500 a month in promo chips and free nights and tickets too all shows.

The thing about the Beau I dont like is the steak house. You have to have a good steak house! The Nugget has Vic & Anthony's and I dont care what anybody says, it's as good as most of the better vegas streak houses. $350 meal a couple of bottles of wine and one bottle to go! Great night!

I am not sure how this compares to others on here, but I am happy with it.

What you get offered is also greatly dependent on where you go in Vegas... For what it takes to get a room, food, and more downtown or off-strip you might be lucky to get a buffet comp on the strip...

Luckily the The Beau is an MGM Property and anything they offer me there the Bellagio, MGM and others will match. I just dont like to gamble in those places.

Having lived in Vegas and in the casinos an average of 16 hours a day in my entire 18 years there, very seldom should you ever have to pay for a meal.

This can all be accomplished by playing +ev games also.............sportsbook, blackjack, slot progressives, and 100%+ EV video poker.

Some tips.......

ALWAYS show your slot card or offer it when placing bets in the sportsbooks or playing at the table.


The first thing you should do upon entering a new casino is head directly to the slots club and pick up your cards........you notice I said card(s). You want an extra one for many reasons that can be discussed later. Chances are you will recieve some welcoming gifts at the booth plus some type of freeplay.......and you can learn of current promotions going on in the casino.


ALWAYS insert your slot card when playing slots or video poker.

Do not let anyone tell you otherwise that this is not a good idea.......there is absolutely no reason to not play with a slot card. The idea that it makes a machine pay differently is completely false and if your worried about them tracking your for whatever reasons, you should find a new type of entertainment.

ALWAYS ask to meet a casino host and tell them you will be giving their casino considerable action.

This is one that many casino patrons, even vertrans, sometimes overlook. Having a casino host can only help you. You will be able to recieve comps with nothing come off your card and they are always a voice for you in case you have any problems in the casino........become good friends with these people and even tip them from time to time.


ALWAYS be friendly with as many employees in the casino as possible

Even if you have to fake this, DO IT..........you will be better off in the longrun.

I worked at the Sands for 2-3 years as a supervisor in the sportsbook..........

Just before they closed their doors and just after I retired from there, they had some of the best +ev slot machines in Vegas(that only a few knew about).........but that is another chapter in "winning".

Here is the deal, this forum is very, very difficult to educate others on what it takes to win consistantly ...........venues such as the SBR BASH provide a much better avenue to explain things.

In Vegas, I only will bet on sports and play craps. Maybe play a poker sit and go or small tourney. You will lose your ass playing slots long term. That is good for the blue hairs where they can play and not think at all. Their happy getting comped a buffet meal after losing thousands.

However, there are also many that are beatable(without cheating) to the seasoned pro..............and as mentioned, not only will they make money on the machine, they will load up with all types of comps.

I lived an few hours away from Laughlin, Nevada (the mini-Vegas)but basically lived there...came home to get away from the noise once in awhile. All FISHHEAD is saying is 110% fact. Did the slot-cards, got the comps, never paid for rooms or meals and got in good with the people at the casino. They would just walk up and say "Here you are, Mr. in2thethickofit, enjoy your stay"...as the handed you free stuff all day long. They are faking the nicest as much as you are at times, they want you back so you will feed their machines and tables until they get there $$$ back...the cards will get you money the more you play, as they are based on percentage of input into the machine.

Good to give the tips on comps, Fish. Like a book I read at some point said "Comps are the only sure thing, so take them." Words to gamble by - I have enjoyed a lot of nice comps over the years.

I lived at the Edgewater...they had the "Thunder Slots" - wind would blow and palm trees would sway and you could win triple the cash for like 5 minutes or so...man, that was a blast. I could sit in 12 hour stints...no prob! Made tons of cash
