#38Yeah, I guess Stefan Struve is making a joke by having himself introduced as a kickboxer.
You're actually trying to dispute the fact that Struve was kickboxer before falling in love with MMA? Really? Get out of here, clown.Comment -

#39That's the difference between you and me. You don't think a fighter could do something unless he has already done it in a previous fight. I know a fighter can get a flash KO just by seeing his skills. I don't need to see 3 KO's out of his last 5 fights to know the guy can knock someone out easily. If anybody doesn't think Max Holloway can knock someone out a la Pettis vs Lauzon, then I don't care what else you have to say.
I wouldn't say Oliveira has a "good chin" - it's no better than Miguel Torres' chin-- I could totally see a solid kick to the body making Oliveira completely fall to the canvas... again, I had this argument with V before where he said we haven't seen evidence of this, or evidence of that... if you're basing your picks off evidence you've already seen instead of knowing the fighters abilities and potential, then you're just off.Comment -

Also, a hit in the chin is not the only way to knock someone out. I mentioned a body-shot, yet you're still talking to me about chins.

#41That is a very important point. That BURNED me in the ellenberger loss! That was the last way I thought ellenberger would lose to kampmann, dude had an iron chin, had never been dropped or rocked badly in his entire career and gets flat KO'd by a slightly above average striker in Kampann. Anything can happen in this F*ing sport which makes betting so difficult.Comment -

In addition to betting Kampmann straight, I also bet him inside the distance at +350. I didn't bet him by just sub at +415 because I thought he could put a gassed Jake in a bad spot and TKO him via ref stoppage, like Diego Sanchez almost did, or get a sub. For that reason, covering my bases with Kampmann by any form of stoppage made sense.
But the one method of victory for Kampmann that I did NOT expect was a KO. That was surprising! I didn't think Kampmann would be able to drop him, let alone put him basically unconscious.Comment -

#43Oh he was...he just sucked. Just like his kickboxing pretty much sucks now, it's his submission/ground game that makes him really relevant. Man I'm gonna bring this up every-time I need a laugh, it's priceless.Comment -

#45So you're saying Stefan Struve is mainly a Jiu Jitsu fighter and not a kickboxer? I think you just agreed with me that he is indeed a kickboxer first, regardless of being good or not... I never said he was a good kickboxer, you fool. If I thought he was so good, why I would I bet against him so often? haha you're a clown, man.
I think I just made you look like a bitch. My bad.
The backstory is that someone said that Hunt (and then Lavar) versus Struve would either be Hunt by KO or Struve by Sub and you kept saying how you felt Struve wouldn't win by Sub (perhaps as a contrarian POV) and how Struve could stick & move with KB to possibly win a decision. Then you continued to downplay Struve's grappling prowess and kept saying how his kickboxing is his roots and what got him into the UFC.
Now what you're saying about the 6'11.5" dutchman's KB background may be technically true but I'm sure that most cappers don't give a shit about which discipline got a fighter into MMA or the UFC (Kung Fu for Roy was a good example mentioned earlier). We care about how a fighter will matchup and how they'll likely win. Unquestionably that was Struve's BJJ.
I'm not trying to dump on you Gabe... I just think you're coming at this from a different angle than the people you're arguing with and it's just leading to senseless arguing that's going nowhere.
I think everyone should just move on from the confusion but that's just my two cents.Comment -

About Stefan Struve I could really care less about what you do or don't think about him, I just get a kick out of your inability to admit you were wrong, so I'll bring it up from time to time when I feel like you're being an ass.

#51Yes, that would indeed be Struve's best chance at winning. I don't think he could get Mark Hunt down and submit him as easily as he did Lavar Johnson. Hunt is a technical fighter, he's not gonna rush in all wild and careless... I didn't think Struve would realistically outpoint Hunt for 3 rounds, I just thought that would be his best chance at winning... doing the Carlos Condit shit, kicking and running to avoid getting knocked out... If he won like that, that wouldn't make him a great kickboxer, it would make him a great pointfighter.Comment -

#60No, in the interest of time it's just not worth it. You've proved time and time again that you forget what you say and contradict yourself, and people have cited these phrases and they're actually all on here documented if you go through your own posts lol. I don't have time to argue with what might be the stupidest person on this board because it can literally take hours or even days explaining shit to you. From an opportunity cost perspective, it ain't worth it. Go ahead and consider this a moral victory for yourself, I really don't care just don't talk to me anymore and I'm more than happy to ignore you as well.Comment -

You cannot tell someone they always contradict themselves unless you've got 5 examples off the top of your head at any given moment....
Dude, you JUST said I'm in a web of contradictions, which implies I just contradicted myself with something... What is it? Share!
You know damn well you have nothign to say and that contradiction line was something you pulled out of your ass after you had nothing else left to say.
I asked you to provide ONE example, and you failed to do so. I knew you wouldn't be able to, because i haven't contradicted myself on anything.
You are a joke, everyone was laughing at you a couple weeks ago and I felt too bad for you so I didn't join in, and you have the balls to call me the dumbest person on this forum?? You Private message me begging for my thoughts, and you have the balls to say I'm the dumbest person?? Dude, over the past couple months, I've seen you say some of the dumbest shit lol and today I called you out on one, so an argument started.... you are a fkng moron for calling those guys cans and saying papazian's first fight in the UFC was a failure. not many fighters lose their first fight yet get as much praise as he got. you are a fool for considering it a failure and for considering his past opponents cans. i can't take you seriously for having that opinion, and if anyone here doesn't take me seriously like someone just said, then they're fkng morons. Again, I don't have time to go searching but in recent memory, what you have suggested about struve in the past has been contradictory to your recent comments. Your justification for this was insufficient and beyond weak, your argument didn't even make sense. (please don't try and repeat yourself). I don't know what else to tell ya. That's a nice little essay you wrote for me but it can be condensed into nothing meaningful. What are you trying to say? Whenever I disagree with your opinions you freak out, which makes no sense because disagreements are actually good for wagering because they question the legitimacy of picks... why don't you try rationally responding to things for a change when you have a differing opinion instead of acting like a child? For example if I think Jarred Papazian hasn't been tested with the greatest competition yet, you don't have to rage lol you know what I mean? Just explain your points, and I'll explain mine. This will help everyone.

I never contradicted myself about anything regarding Struve. If I did, you'd be able to point it out, no? Mark Hunt was my pick, and I had a throw-away line mentioning Struve's best chance would be to use his speed, footwork, and legkicks AKA his kickboxing. I, on June 4th 2012 stand by what I said. So, how and when did I ever contradict myself?Comment -
