UFC President Dana White announced the news on Thursday, also revealing that the UFC will implement a formal, written code of conduct for its talent moving forward. Part of Hughes’ new job as Vice President of Athlete Development and Government Relations will be to serve as mentor to the UFC roster and make sure the fighters comply with the code.

Hughes, who made his last in-cage appearance in September 2011 and has hinted at a possible retirement multiple times since, was selected for the position because of his proven track record both in and out of the Octagon, according to UFC head legal counsel Lawrence Epstein.

“It’s funny the path God puts you on. What started out as a hobby brought me to the UFC and [to this place] in front of you now,” Hughes said at Thursday’s press conference. “I love this sport, and the new position is the best way for me to stay in it moving forward. I look forward to using my experience to provide perspective to both the UFC and the fighters.”

I've been saying it for years...Vaugany used to be really good at this stuff until his integrity went out the window a few years ago...then suddenly every bet that he lost didn't matter because of risk-free arbs and "secret" plays that were never posted...it's actually pretty crazy...he's very similar to Lakerboy...from legend to joke inside of 2 years...still very entertaining characters/aliases.

I agree whenever he has a losing night he posts something that he won on after the fact. He knows some stuff but you're right you do lose respect.

Any thoughts on Fitch/Maia not distance at +170

Obviously Maia sub is still likely despite Fitch being "unsubmittable" and we dont know Maia's weight cut/cardio at 170 which Fitch might be able to stop someone in the second if Maia gasses

It all depends on Fitch's financial state.

All seriousness though, the only realistic way I can see this finishing ITD is Maia by sub so you may as well wait to see what that line is before putting anything down. I was on Fitch>Silva big and let me tell you I was bricking it when Erik had his back, he can't afford to do that again; but Fitch dec. is pretty much always the bet in a Fitch fight.

lol that was rough dude. i feel your pain. im a moron for not arbing out of Not lamas itd. and i also had a big play on cerrone/pettis starts round 2, and moderate on some of the other plays e.g., Not grant itd, and Grant by dec..

couple of arbs eased the sting, but overall a very bad night.
