#4482I'm thinking Bendo + Fight Goes over 4.5 are good plays.
I think either one or both will hit.
I like Bendo winning the belt in Japan more than anywhere else, because he looks kind of Asian. ha
(The Japanese might notice that, too, and it might be like having a hometown advantage! lol)Comment -

#4484I'd wait if I were betting Bendo. I like Frankie all day, but I'd feel robbed if I took Bendo at like +105 or Even. Seems like you should be able to get +125 by fight time. I could be wrong though.Comment -

#4485An article at weekly said that bendo has gained muscle. I'm wondering of there will be any negative impact on his game. Has he made 155 in recent fights? Iirc he is usually at 156. Don't expect much of an impact his cardio is probably best in mma
Did either him or Frankie fly out yet?Comment -

#4486You liking Frankie Vaugh? Hard to tell with the hedges and multiple plays. I think people continue to underrate him. It is getting down to an even -110 split in some places. That seems pretty ridiculous. Not many champs are favored so little. And is it safe to say Bendo isn't some future of the sport, division changing prospect?
I just think Frankie is being undervalued...yet again... and I highly doubt the line gets any better.
I'm not finding any advantages that Bendo has other than size. And Frankie has dealt with being the smaller man for his whole career. I really don't see one aspect that Bendo is better than Frankie in.
If we get away from the on paper stuff, I feel Frankie has beat some top LWs already in Penn and Maynard. He seems to get better each time too. I think -115 is a great price on a champ as well-rounded as Frankie.
Frankie is my favourite fighter in MMA, but I dont think I can bring myself to bet on him in this one, at least not straight up. Aside from the size, great chin and sub defence, and leg-kicks that Henderson brings to the table, I think the key thing to consider here is Henderson's ability to have and implement a game-plan. It didn't seem in either of the BJ fights or even Maynard fights that they really had a gameplan, or at least didnt stick to their gameplans. In both fights, BJ just pretty much stood in the centre of the octagon trying to counter and at times push forward only to see Frankie darting in and out at angles for 25 minutes. He then went and did pretty much the same in the rematch but got beat only more decisively! Then Maynard went out and battered Frankie in the first round of each of their fights, then went on to look for the finishing blow which never game, partly due to forgetting about setting his punches up and partly because he'd got tired out from trying to finish Frankie. Henderson on the other-hand wont just stand in the centre, he will look to push the pace and take the fight to Frankie. He wont just get carried away with trying to knock him out, he'll look to grind Frankie against the cage and work knees and elbows, he'll look to take Frankie down and work gnp, or guillotine attempts during a scramble. If Frankie tries to take Henderson down he'll either be looking to latch on to a guillotine or bouncing right back up.Comment -

#4488Interesting that you think Bendo has a better chance of finishing. Pretty much all of his finishes are by sub. I can't see him subbing Frankie. I think Bendo's BJJ gets overrated. They are both brown belts and one trains with Renzo Gracie on the daily. I highly doubt we see any sort of a sub finish.
The kicks are a good point. But I just think Bendo is too slow with his strikes to really hurt him with kicks. I think Frankie can dodge most of them or peel inside with a combo when Ben goes for a kick.
As for the wrestling. I really don't think Bendo has amazing wrestling. Frankie has the better pedigree...and each time Maynard and him clinched he held his own or won the battle. ANd I value Maynard's wrestling more than Bendo's. I think the wrestling is quite even and if either is taken down they will just get back up pretty quick.
Jim Miller said he was battling infection in that Bendo fight. And Miller isn't the sort of guy to make those things up. I don't put as much stock in that win now.
Ben has been in 5 rounders. But not since he has added so much bulk. He will have to be an even 155 for this fight. So I don't think people can just assume he will be as fresh as Edgar if it gets into deep waters. His 5 round fights happened when he was a smaller, less muscled man.Comment -

#4490I was coming into this line thinking I'd be in the minority thinking it would be a good fight. I figured to see Frankie around -150 to -180. But they are basically giving almost even odds right now.
I think for sure it will be a good fight. I think this division will produce a lot of good, competitive fights for a while. But I do think Edgar is becoming a great champion. He looks improved each time out. With his KO punch of Maynard. And being able to come back. He is showing he can beat people in multiple ways.
Wonder what the FOTN odds will be. I was lucky enough to not see a good enough line to play Condit/Diaz FOTN. I wanted to jump on a +120 opener, but didn't see anything at plus odds. Good thing the Natural Born Sprinter did his thing. I thought that was easy money.Comment -

He doesn't have the ability to deliver a concise thought in less than 140 characters? That tweet is very difficult to read. Also, you used hashtags outside of Twitter, which is very gay. The only other people I know who do that are douchey teenage girls and boys that went to my high school lol.
Yeah, I used hashtags outside Twitter. #respek
That tweet isn't difficult to read at all, just has words spaced together to fit the 140 char. #keepinitrealComment -

#4494I figure the public will come in on the champ by fight time. Wouldn't you think? Bendo isn't that big of a name. Most of the public would throw on the champ especially at pretty close odds wouldn't they?Comment -
