#458Ben Askren's "shot" is too predictable. Being predictable is death in the fight game. He walks forward slowly with his head down in the same position. Everytime. The clip of Masvidal drilling that knee over and over was designed to take advantage of Askren predictibility. IMO Askren needs to add different movement. Circle to the side. Shoot less predictably. Else, he could be KO'ed by more flying knees in the future if just walks straight in with his head down in the same position like he always does.Comment -

Title fight ya got go all out!! Sorry my mentality is different then most..
Title shots don't come often, Dana White is watching.. You come out swinging trying to finish and get KO'd you still get respect.. You back up against the cage all fight and biitch out to just get another fight and claim knee injury I call that mental weakness. If your knee is completely shot you don't come off the stool. I didn't see an MRI with Santos yet..
Now kiss my ass and piss off Fidel.. Go find safe place you softy..If the MRI comes back as a torn knee ..... that he fought on which was displaced
from the first round on .....
in a MMA event ...
against the all time greatest
and arguably might of won with a torn knee .....
then will you you admit that you not only don’t know sports or fighting
but that you are like most on here and only a gambler , not a lover of sport ?
I meant I don’t post on here that much anymore
because most people don’t know shit about shit
i hate saying that , as always had high hopes .... but it’s the blind leading the blind
You Don’t deserve to watch UFC
Tore his ACL , MCL, PCL , and meniscus , your so fukking full of shit
you don’t have the balls to post a bet before a game starts
let alone get into a real fight
yet you going to question the heart of another athlete in there
with career threatening injuries still almost beating the best fighter of all time
Thiago Santos fought most of his light heavyweight title bout with Jon Jones on essentially one leg.
Santos tore the ACL, MCL, PCL and meniscus of his left knee in the UFC 239 main event Saturday night in Las Vegas, his manager Alex Davis confirmed with ESPN. Tests came back with that information Monday, Davis said.

#464Rogan making excuses for Santos... Santos wants to win he comes forward and wins by KO or gets knocked out.. Santos is a biiiitch IMO..
To beat a rangy fighter with length your only chance is to come forward and land hard punches.. VIA Mike Tyson..
Mike Tyson never backed up.. Just saying.. When fighting for the title you can't go bitch.. Go Forward or get KO'd I say!!!
deserves to be challenged himself
to call this guy a pussy ,would like to speak in the flesh about this topic
Thiago Santos suffered extensive damage to left knee against Jon Jones at UFC 239, out for rest of 2019
The extent of Thiago Santos’ left knee injuries make his UFC 239 performance even more remarkable.
“Marreta” went five rounds with light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in Las Vegas on Saturday night, losing via split decision. On Monday, an MRI exam showed that the left knee meniscus and all its ligaments are completely torn, his team told MMA Fighting. Combate first reported the news.
Santos’ right knee, which needed surgery earlier this year, also suffered damage during the fight as the Brazilian compensated for his left knee injuries, his team told MMA Fighting. Santos will do more tests on his right knee to determine if he needs surgery on that knee as well.

#465"You calculate my pay per hour due to a 5 second knockout, it's pretty fantastic."
Seems to be handling the defeat very well. Hopefully he recovers fully healthwise and bounces back to get a title shot at some point in the future.Comment -

#466Santos is a biiiitch, was backing up even when the fight first started and before he had the knee injury. Watch the fight again, he constantly was backing up against the cage.. Octagon control favored JJ big time!! You don't win the title and beat JJ by backing up the entire fight when you are a power puncher and knock out artist. Santos fought cautious and scared and that's why he lost by decision..
I thought it is a boring asss fight.. Fock em both I say.. I'm in no hurry to see either fight again anytime soon.Comment -

#467especially in a 5 rounds title fight the fighter likes to feel the opponent in the first round, he was fighting smart not backing up.Comment -

Jones has a super long reach and thats his game is pressuring opponents , Santos was taking a Tyron Woodley approach by backing up to the cage and exploding.... Jones has a great chin because Santos cracked him a few times with punches and headkicks on a completely torn knee where 99% of this forum wouldve fell on the ground wheeping and quit the fight but hes a "biiiitch" guy literally knocks people dead for a living , was born in brazilian slums, was a brazilian army forces member and just took a split loss to the p4p goat on one knee......MMA has evolved , the guy walking forward doesnt always win, theres different approaches and angles you can take to land strikes, were not watching c0ckk fight zombies here

Santos changed his natural fighting style from coming forward and knocking people out to backing up and it cost him a knee injury and the title.. That's my opinion..
15 of Santos 21 wins have come by knock out with him moving forward and going for it.. https://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Thiago-Santos-90021
This is Santos in his natural forward moving and destroy fighting style..

#471It's like when strong wrestlers go away from wrestling and try to become point boxing fighters all of the sudden.. It never works out. Gotta stick to your strengths as that's what got you there..
was a perfect example of fighter that got away from his fighting strengths.. For his trouble he started getting knocked out in every fight.

#477So called fighting smart lost him the fight.. Knee healthy or not he would still been backing up and picked apart at distance.. I think he injured his knee because he wasn't fighting his normal style also.

#478Ben Askren's "shot" is too predictable. Else, he could be KO'ed by more flying knees in the future if just walks straight in with his head down in the same position like he always does.
Just like Conor vs. Aldo. It wasn't a "lucky" shot by Conor; he saw Aldo's tendency, and was ready to capitalize on it when it occurred. No one would have guessed it would have occurred thirteen (13) seconds into the bout.Comment
