#8753You seem like one of the posters who actually make money in this market along with Raiders. Any idea how much money you have made the last decade doing what you do ? I assume you are making money or you wouldn't fuk with it. Also how much have you invested in that time frame, rough estimates are perfectly fine to offer for those figures.Comment -

#8755The best time to invest is during the Bitcoin halving. 2016, 2020 and the next April 2024 Bitcoin halving. Bitcoin prices are at it's lowest during the halving. One year after the halving is when Bitcoin bull runs to an all time high in price.
Buy Bitcoin now in 2024 then sell Bitcoin in 2025 when Bitcoin prices peaks at an all time high in 2025. Rinse and repeat in 2028 then 2032 etc.Comment -

#8760I thought a dip might be coming. I got lucky and liquidated a good portion of my BTC. made a few good buys earlier this week. That are still good buys but i took about a 10% beating of my overall portfolioComment -

*Crypto is a form of anti-Fiat.
Consider the USD/BTC ratio. If Dollar-printing is bloating, then BTC should go up (over time).Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#8775From Crypto.com news:
--------------------------------------------
"New US Crypto Tax
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, passed by the US Congress in November 2021, introduced a new provision into the Tax Code. Anyone receiving over US$10,000 in cryptocurrency in their trade or business must report the transaction to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) within 15 days. This new rule took effect on January 1, 2024."
------------------------------------
As usual, kinda vague. 10K in one transaction or 10K accumulated? Rots a ruck collecting on this one, fellas.Comment -

#8778and as you said it's vague and really tough to figure out. You have to file that stuff and pay taxes but even when you do, they can find something wrong if they want. No one truly understands the laws. If your CPA is wrong on the crypto laws then you're still liable.Comment -

I actually think they wanted that law on the books just as a free-roll. As if to say "Maybe somebody will be dumb enough to pay it."Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#8781I've seen some quotes from politicians. They basically concede that Crypto transactions fall outside their ability to collect taxes. Crypto is outside the control of government states.

This law seems to be in the same vein. And because it is vague, I'm going to operate so that I never go over 10K in one transaction. I interpret it to mean that it is perfectly fine to cash out 8K three days in a row without notifying anyone.
-----------------------------------------
I use a crypto CPA to do my taxes. I pay them handsomely to do my taxes. Part of that is for their advice and know-how should an issue crop up with the IRS. So many CPA's are little more than "agents" for the IRS and my guy has a little of that in him. Still, it is nice to have the protection from the wolves....Comment -

#8782Bitpay didn't report transactions unless it was both over 200 transactions and $20k for the year. That's being changed to $600 per year. There's a new DeFi debit card on the way out but I have ne idea how they plan to get around the $600 rule.
The Ethereum Cancun-Deneb upgrade is part of Ethereum's ongoing efforts to enhance the scalability, efficiency, and security of its blockchain.

#8783Yep, just more evidence the squeeze against the little guy keeps accelerating. The 200/$20K thing used to be standard. Once you crossed that threshold, you got sent a 1099 at the end of the year. Even Ebay is doing the $600 thing now (earn over $600, get a form) Prepare to see 1099's coming in from all angles in the future....Comment -

#8784We need a federal point of sale tax on everything. We could cut out 90% of the IRS agents since it would be so easy.Comment -

#8785Cathie Wood says BTC can be 1.5M by 2030.
If it's not, no one will really be able to do anything about ie sue her asss because she is just given an opinion.
Kind of irresponsible.Comment
