I actually like the over. The last 3 games that Cole Hamels has pitched in have gone under the total. Hamels had 3 starts in a row (Aug 12, 17, 22) where the game went under the total. The very next game Hamels pitched in, went over the total (Aug 23, Phillies won 9-2).

This is a very low total for two very good hitting baseball teams. The phillies are a very good fastball hitting team. The phillies bottom third of the lineup has hit Billingsley hard. If it was a sinkerball pitcher I would go with the under. LEts say for example it was Hamels vs. Kuroda, I would bet on the game staying under 7.5 runs. Since it is a hardthrowing right hander Billingsley, I like the total to go over 7.5 runs (+105). Another reason I like the over is the plus action on the over.

Hamels has pitched 5 straight starts where he has pitched 6.0 innings and the phillies as a team have allowed the opponent 3or fewer runs. This is Hamel's longest streak of quality starts where the phillies allowed 3 or fewer runs in his starts. He had a 4 game streak during the 2008 season where the phillies allowed 3 or fewer runs.

Prediction:
Both the dodgers and phillies will each score at least 4 runs apiece. Hamel's streak of 5 quality starts where the phillies allowed 3 or fewer runs will end tommorrow. I also think that Hamels may be due for a game where he gets roughed up. If the dodgers do take this game, they will beat the phillies in 7 games.
