uhm, roy has a lower ERA, but if you take into consideration the wins:
        roy's 18-10
        lester's 14-5

        14-5's better for me

a lot of other pitchers are good, there is no such thing as best pitcher in baseball!

TOR is as excellent a call as it gets. However, Halladay may be the best pitcher in baseball but his W-L record shows he certainly isn't the one that wins you the most money.

Wow I missed some exicitement in this thread. LOL

W/L record means nothing when comparing pitchers. Halliday is among the league leaders in ERA and WHIP and he has more Complete Games than any other TEAM in the league. Not to mention his long career track record.

Cliff Lee will win the Cy Young Award, but I would take Halliday over him any day.

I know the Jays lost but you will lose thousands and thousands of dollars on sportsbetting if you use this logic to cap games

You won't get much respect from anyone if you are quoting win/loss records as a pitcher's attribute.
