trying to pull the outside pitch, I guess he's too big a deal to listen to a batting coach...but going with the pitch occasionally usually helps with that.

Yeah, he's horrible. What a waste of money. They should just cut him.
(rolls eyes)
This guy is most likely the best player to play the game. Just be glad you get to watch him. Double plays happen. Get over it.

While I agree to an extent, why can't people just look at season's at a whole rather than outline a few weeks here and there? Sure we would love him to be hitting .340 all year and hitting a HR every other game, but baseball is a game of peaks and valleys.
He'll go on another tear soon guys. Chill.

He is a great ball player, but it was crunch time and he was trying to do it all, he just pressed. He will be ok. Any team out there would love to have him

he isnt close to the best to play the game
he may get the most homers, but he is an average fielder and i am curious how he is a better hitter than, for example, pujols

He isn't a better hitter than Pujols. Pujols is one of the best we have seen, probably, top 5. Go and look at all the past greats OPS's and Pujols stands above most. And while OPS isn't everything, it's probably the best stat for just hitting. Ted Williams was above pretty much all in this category, besides maybe the babe. Anyways, Pujols is most likely a top 5 hitter in the history of baseball, so him being a better hitter than A-Rod isn't that big of a deal.
A-Rod, however is an excellent fielder. He's always had great range and a gun for an arm. While he might kick a couple balls here and there, his .975 career fielding percentage is very good for a SS/3B. He is also one of four players in the 40/40 club I believe (Canseco, Soriano, and Bonds are the others; might be missing someone) He is also a ++ base runner. While he doesn't shoot for 35 steals like he used too, his career SB% is 80%. Willie Mays' % is 76, Rickey Henderson's is 80%, and Jose Reyes's is 79%
Saying he isn't close to the best in the game is a travesty.

Arod is a pile of garbage, period...
During the game today they said that since Arod joined the team, the Yanks havent been to a single world series....

Apparently Arod equalled the all-time Yankees record last night ......... in double plays per month that is.
Don't even mention his postseason record.....

LOl, just got in, checked the match report. To my enormous amazement.....
GIDP: Rodriguez, A.
Congratulations to ARod, now the unrivalled holder of the worst monthly GIDP record in Yankees history.
Anyone know what the MLB record is? I'm sure he'll have a go at that one next.

You mean like his number from Yankees postseason with RISPs? (ie 100% of 38 at-bats he strands the runners).
Clutch situation, Arod steps up to plate = out, and often a double play.
Yankees 38-0 up, Arod steps up to plate = hits, rbis, homers galore.

Look, I'm not an A-Rod fan because he blows in "clutch" situations but how many people here wouldn't want him on their favorite team?

As a Marlin fan, I'd LOVE to have A-Rod play SS and move Hanley to CF.

STFU, clutch is about as real as the tooth fairy. It's just a player living up to his ability. 50 AB's with RISP is not a big enough sample size to say anything. Btw, last year A-Rod had more RBI than any other player on the planet. RBI is one of the most over-rated categories in the game.
Look at OPS ppl.

RBI and batting average are "dead money" stats.
