The pitching match-up is in favor of the Red Sox tonight, and while both teams combined for 36 runs yesterday, I think the Red Sox can keep rolling from that against the same calibur pitcher as last night. The Rangers will have a tougher time scoring that many against Lester, who is at his best at home with a 2.87 ERA in 81.2 IP. Texas hits their best against RHP at home, and they hit their worst against LHP on the road. Mendoza is carrying a 7.50 ERA in to tonights game, and he has an 8.46 ERA on the road. Red Sox should get the win today.

The White Sox won game 1 9-0 last night, and now they have Buerhle on the mound tonight. Despite getting rocked by KC eleven days ago, Buerhle has bounced back with a 7.0 IP 1 ER outing against Boston. And being at home is a big plus for him as he has a 2.97 home ERA. Hochevar has a 6.49 ERA on the road and he went from having a 5-5 record with a 4.60 ERA, to having a 6-10 record with a 5.54 ERA (He has been doing worse as the season goes on). Although KC hits better against LHP than they do against RHP, I think Chicago shouldn't have trouble getting a win tonight as well.

Hard to predict, but even if they can do half of what they did last outing, the White Sox should still get their runs off of Hochevar just as easy. Not to mention the play-off race. White Sox are a half a game up on the Twins, the White Sox need to win at home against KC. I think the Twins game today at noon may have an influence on the White Sox tonight too. If the Twins win, the White Sox will win. If the Twins lose, then who knows how the White Sox will react tonight. Javier Vasquez had a bad outing @ KC in early July, and then bounced back last night with 8 shut out innings against KC. Hopefully the same goes for Buerhle.
