But the Yanks will keep him until he is a broken old man, thats just the way it is. He's like Mattingly in the way that he can do no wrong in the eyes of New Yorkers.

But I swear, seems like everytime I've bet the Yanks he smacks into several plays double plays.....and botches just as many in the field. Lot of bettors will tell you that.....

Don't understand the constant killing of Jeter.

He's going to finish with over 3000 hits.

He plays the game the right way.

          He's going to the HOF.

Well...Jeter is still "good". Whether he's "overrated" is open for debate.

people can think a player isnt that good and not hate him you know
i dont hate jeter, but i dont see his value on the field as being much more than any other average shortstop

jeter's an above avg shortstop w the bat and in the field. he gives a veteran presence and is good when the pressure's on

he is not above average in the field, far from it
his bat is slightly above average
imagine reyes, young, rollins in that lineup

There was a study done about 2 years ago where they compiled TONS of data on EVERY ball hit to EVERY shortstop in the league.

Jeter ranked SECOND to last (the guy in Texas got last).

Jeter is horrible going to his left.

He is overrated and not an above average fielder (and never was).

With that said, I am very jealous of him. Dude plays baseball, makes tons of cash and has probably gotten more hot trim than all of us put together and more.

what evidence do you have that he is versatile?

and why put a no power, 290 hitter at a power position in the field like 1b?

If I thought that one player on one team like the Yankees was costing me money each time I bet them, then I might think about either not betting their games at all or maybe fading them day in, day out.
