                    I'm going with two criteria:

                    1. Career HR per at bat
                    2. HR per at bat at Yankee Stadium

                      Career HR per at bats:

                      1. Braun (1 every 16.2)
                      2. Berkman (1 every 16.2)
                      3. Hamilton (1 every 16.7)
                      4. Longoria (1 every 18.8)
                      5. Uggla (1 every 19.0)
                      6. Morneau (1 every 19.5)
                      7. Utley (1 every 20.4)
                      8. Sizemore (1 every 23.9)

                      ODDS ON TOP THREE:

                      Braun +650
                      Berkman +385
                      Hamilton +285

I think the lefties would have an advantage, so that leaves Berkman, Hamilton, Morneau, Utley, maybe Sizemore? I like Berkman and Morneau -- maybe Utley?

I like Morneau and Hamilton. I laid half a unit on both. I was able to get Morneau at 13/2 odds on Bodog earlier today. Hamilton 4/1.

FYI, Berkman says that he will bat from his right side tomorrow as to not mess up his opposite field swing from his left. Morneau and Hamilton are the kind of guys that bomb balls during batting practice. Both lefties.

The kinds of guys who win home run derbies are power hitters. Utley, Sizemore, and Longoria are not known for their power. Morneau and Hamilton have a lot of power and are lefties. It seems like the most logical pick.

Larry Ness has Berkman winning this, Hamilton second. He thinks Berkman "wants it more" cause he's been in it three other times. Also, he notes that no HR leader during the first half of the season who was in the compeition (this year Utley) has ever won. Utley has the most first-half HRs of any competitor, although he doesn't have the most in the majors.

Not if you want to make the event a little more exciting for a small thrown down.

but utley could be a nice play too
i cant do longoria or uggs by any stretch bc i think uggs will tire out quickly
Utley isn't a power hitter. He is much better at getting extra base hits. I would take Ryan Howard if he was in it.

Morneau and Utley are tailor made for Yankee Stadium. Like I said in the other thread though, it's a crapshoot. Whoever gets hot at the right time.
