RHP Ty Taubenheim will get a chance to make an impression Saturday night as he makes his Pirates debut when he faces Tampa Bay. Taubenheim's contract was purchased from Class AAA Indianapolis following Friday night's 10-5 loss to the Rays. Taubenheim, 25, was 4-9 with a 4.60 ERA in 16 starts for Indianapolis this season after being claimed off waivers from Toronto in December. Taubenheim pitched in a combined 13 games, including eight starts, for the Blue Jays the previous two seasons and was 1-5 with a 5.40 ERA.

Neither of these teams will be confused for an offensive juggernaut, but tonight's pitchers could dictate a good shot at the OVER. Carlos Silva has been disappointing as a free agent signee for SEA and has suffered on the road with a 1-5 record and a 6.31 ERA. In 7 of 9 tries on the road, Silva's starts have gone OVER tonight's total. Baek (former SEA pitcher) for the Padres may be the envy of the SD pitching staff, not for his actual pitching, but for the fact that the Padres offense seems to show up for him. In Baek's 5 starts for SD, the offense has given him 28 runs. He's struggled in 2 of 3 starts at PETCO, giving up 10 ER in those 2 combined, while yielding just 1 ER in the other start. In night starts with SD, the total has gone OVER in 4 of 5. As a final note, in this Interleague series, the OVER has hit in 2 of 3 tries per series every year since '05 (3 of 3 in '05). Last night was an UNDER.

I love this one as my #1 pick as well.. Last night I went with the overs thinking Seattle was gonna put up good numbers (which they did) and Padres would put up about 3-4 runs being that they are at home (which they didn't). tonight I believe the seattle will put up those 8 all by themselves..
