    Minnesota Twins
This team has been flying below the radar all season and now they have a nine game winning streak. Who needs Johan Santana when you are only a half game out of first and the hottest team in the majors.

Like the White Sox conquered the Cubs, we expect the Twins to maximize home advantage and take this one.

I like the Crew tonight. I really think the Twins are overperforming so far this season. They aren't really this good are they? I'll take the more talented team with two pitchers of equal strength...

High priced players are overrated in baseball, it is proven every year. You can win with average players now.

Do not be fooled by ERA and WHIP. Blackburn has been the better pitcher by far this year.

                  3.64 vs. 4.46 FIP

On top of that, McClung has been unsustainably lucky with his LOB% and BABIP. The Twins have a distinct SP advantage.

Those stats are probably a bit misleading since McClung started the season in the bullpen...

I would lean the Twins here, because of home field. It seems even to me.

It should be a tight, good game.

Perhaps but his games started is too small of a sample size so I'd rather use all of his stats. Regardless, McClung has been lucky this year and he isn't as good as his ERA and WHIP indicate. That's all I was trying to show and the fact that he hasn't started all year doesn't really change that.

Actually, the fact that he started the year in the bullpen and had a high LOB% is generally a good stat. That means he was generally able to hold with no further damage. And his starting numbers are very similar to those of Blackburn's.

I would bet the Tigers to win the division before the twinkies. The Tigers are going to roll that division

Ahh yes. Luck and regression are nearly identical. LOL. A bit testy after one single reply in disagreement. I guess it remains unclear to me how I should address a blanket statement such as "that guy is lucky." A very informed and factual argument indeed. Thanks for your amazing insight. I'll be sure to include luck as a factor in further handicapping endeavors.
