Latroy Hawkins is nowhere close to Farnsworth, talent or stuff wise.

You aren't going to hear me say this very often, but I think the Yankees are the right side tomorrow on the road. I think it is a relatively cheap price to back Pettite. Also, I am going to take a shot with ATL too. ALL MIL pitchers are better at home and Suppan is no exception, but something tells me we'll get a very good effort out of Reyes tomorrow. MIL offense is negligible these days at best. I haven't committed yet to either team but am leaning very heavily toward both sides but hate to fade MIL at home b/c they are really strong there.

One thing I am interested in charting is fading teams off very dramatic wins. Both BAL and MIL fall into that category tomorrow. I've followed MIL for years and it almost seems that any sort of dramatic victory is followed by a loss. I've kept nothing official or documented but just a general reserarch question I've had.

I have no opinon on the BOS/SEA game....EB has been pretty bad this year but he's more than capable. Real tough matchup. It's always one of the toughest calls backing a good pitcher at home on a miserable team.

      Good luck.....

Let's just say if the Yanks are depending on Farnsworth as a main cog in their bullpen, they're in more trouble than I thought (and I didn't think they were very good to begin with).

Plenty of relievers don't have Farnsworth's arm, yet the majority are more effective. Talent and/or stuff is the least of Farnsworth's problems. Guy's a mental midget who can't consistently throw strikes, particularly with his breaking stuff, and doesn't want the ball in big spots.

Yankees would be real good if their starters went 7 innings night in and night out. Most of their starters these days go 4-6 innings max leaving the door open for guys like Hawkins and Farnsworth to come in. Not a good recipie.

A little surprised you like the Braves here, BB. I like Reyes quite a bit and think he'll be a special pitcher, but I don't think he's in a position to throw a good game here. He's been bothered by a blister for the better part of three weeks, and you'd have to believe it's a huge factor in him being hit pretty hard in each of his last 3 starts. Here's what Reyes said following his May 18th start against the D-Backs -- "I felt like everything was going in slow motion today," Reyes said. "I felt like I didn’t have anything on my fastball. I didn’t feel comfortable in the bullpen. I didn’t want to come out. It got worse in that last inning but I didn’t want to pull myself out of the game. It was real sore today." Reyes said the blister has bothered him since his May 8 outing. Throw in Suppan's favorable home/road splits, Milwaukee's strong play at home and their success against LHP, and I'd have a hard time backing the Braves in this spot.

              Buddy Bear,

I wish you would start making your own threads...When I go into the MLB zone I have to look at all of them and weed out the good from the bad...but If you just made a thead everyday I could just look at that...

I'll try, but to be honest, I have little patience to maintain a thread. I really admire the guys who can do it day in and day out. I do keep a diary of all my plays though where I write all my plays down, how much I risked total, net, overall record, current balance, etc...

Usually I just comment in people's threads and make comments there. If you have any questions just start a thread or PM me. I am usually around.

                As of now, I took ATL +107, HOU +135, Texas +137, & MINN +125.

Still considering NYY, Pitt, and CWS. I am going to pass on FLA and SF though.

                Good luck....

We'll see. I've just seen too many great wins at Miller Park in my time only to see MIL play a clunker the next night. MIL has been about the most inconsistent team these year so you really don't know what type of effort you are going to get from them. Maybe there win Memorial Day against WSH got them going and yes they are a much much different team at home than on the road but this year's team is really missing something. Outside of Braun and Corey Hart, I've been impressed with very little offensively.

Will be interested to see how this one plays out though.

                    Good luck....
