Who the hell are the Cubs to lay 1.70 to anybody.
It's the Cubs for the love of God.

Who says the young, hungry Pirates can't beat a sub-par team twice?

Carlos Zambrano is a nuclear meltdown on spikes waiting to happen.
Forget that for a moment, the current Pirate line up is 26 for 87 lifetime against the 'Z' man
    That's .299 batting average against.

More importantly, this current Pirate line up against Zambrano has a lifetime on base percentage of .396
That's 2 out of every 5 Pirates in the line up that faces Zambrano reaches base.
That's a lot of base runners, base runners = runs.

Maholm, the Pirate lefty is the type of lefty that when on, can shut down the best of line ups.

Cubs is not the best of line ups.

Pirates at +170 is a bargain, the best I've ever seen.

Actually Zambrano is still one of the top pitchers in the League.

He had his meltdown last year b/c of Lou Pinella moving him to the bullpen for no reason.

Zambrano is Cubs best pitcher by far, which should garner bettors and oddsmakers respect.

I took the Under again. Malholm is a capable pitcher.

All that said. Pirates +170 is the play, for the value and Cubs ridiculous price.

I agree with you and having said that Zambrano (when he has his head screwed on straight) will be about the only guy the Cubbies have on the field that is woth a damn

          Best of luck today !!

If you read my stuff (and I doubt you do lol ) the Pirates got sticks.
The kid at third is a stud, McCutchen is an all star, Neil Walker is a very nice middle infielder, this team isn't winning any NL pennants this year, but they are much better than people give them credit for.
It's the starting pitching they lack, but Maholm I've always liked, he's that lefty (I used to play, I know) you don't want to face if his stuff is getting over. Only problem with him is, when he's not on, he'll walk four.

Maholm is a solid 3 starter on any good team.

111-64 record since being named a full time starter in '03. 58% winning percentage, and not one losing year record wise.

If you want to knock a guy b/c he is a hothead, his team sucks, and his former manager is a career loser then fine.

But dont act as if facts support your claim.

I like both steve and Houli's angle on this game. Leaning towards Pirates and the under.

Zambrano could make a comeback this year - but currently still a wild card. I would depend on Maholm more than that guy.

Scrubs lost their first five games vs. the Pirates last season.

FYI the one start Zambrano made against the Pirates last year ended with a Cubs win.
