#5987I don't understand if this is just for fun, what's fun about just tailing someone else's bet. I think I would have more fun making my own plays and testing myself. I would take pride in that if it was just for fun..... If it's about money, which you state it's not, then if you feel GG gives you the best chance to make money, fine, if that's how you feel. I really can't understand how this could be fun to just tail someone if it is just for fun, why would you ever come on here and be frustrated over a bad night.....it should all just be in good fun.Last edited by wandalsh84; 05-28-11, 12:36 AM.Comment -

#5989GG has been ice cold but it's not totally his fault. He has had some bad luck. In addition, here is what I have found from my own observations.
I don't blindly tail all of his plays. I just play the games I like. Likewise, I'm not a big fan of totals so I lay off most of those. Likewise, I lay off any of the plays rated 1-4*. If he isn't that confident in them, why should I be??? I don't like to play every game. It gives the books more of an advantage.
As for GGs style, I've noticed he fades certain teams and it has hurt us. Mavericks, Heat, Phillies, Indians, etc. He also seems to like Baltimore for some weird reason. I quit betting on them like 10 days ago. This isn't necessarily a knock against GG, it's just something I have noticed and I've filtered these games out of my wagering.
I have my best week ever right before this cold streak started. While I've lost a lot the past few days, I'm still up since tailing this guy. I still think he is a great capper and will ride it out. His good days far outweigh his bad days. I don't want to stop tailing because as soon as I do, he will get hot again. With that said, I didn't blindly tail all of his picks today seeing as how he as been cold. I also cut back on the unit amount I put on some of the games. Maybe some of you should do the same.
I would also like to add that even though he has been on a cold streak, he has been getting extremely unlucky. Teams blowing 15 point leads with a few minutes to go, unders going over by 1 point. Teams blowing leads in the 9th and then not scoring with runners in scoring position.Comment -

#5991Nice post BigDofBA. I agree that I have noticed that GG is very trendy with the teams he does or doesn't support. Mavs were ATS gold all year. If you bet the Mavs all year especially when they were the road team, you would be doing very very well and the playoffs were just as gold.
I was just talking today about how I can't understand why GG never bets the Phillies either. I thought that was the best play on the board today. Oswalt at -140 v. friggin Capuano and the lowly Mets!
The other thing I don't get is I previously saw him stating a lot that a certain play were too juicy for him to take, but I feel like he's taking juicier plays of late. Like Lewis tonight for Texas @ -190....Ogando probably won't even be that juicy on Sunday.
His record speaks for itself and I have only really been tailing him for a short while, so maybe he always is this way, just what I have noticed in the short span. I was just curious if he's trying to stop the funk by changing what was previously working or something like that.Last edited by wandalsh84; 05-28-11, 01:09 AM.Comment -

#5992Just wanted to chime in on this. GG has stated multiple times that part of his capping is about reading lines. When I see the Phillies with Oswalt on the mound at -140 against the slumping Mets with Capuano coming off a terrible start, I see oddsmakers begging for money on the Phils, and GG probably sees it the same way. If you take a look at the box score, Capuano and Oswalt each gave up just 1 ER through 6 innings. K-Rod absolutely blew it, giving up 3 runs in a tie game in the top of the 9th. Yes, the Phillies were the play that cashed, but give me a 1 inning duel between K-Rod and Madson and I'll take K-Rod every time. Best of luck tomorrow!Comment -

#5993Guys need to get a life instead of bitching all night long about games. At the very least, crack a beer, sit on the couch and relax watching a game. If you have a hissy fit every losing night, gambling isn't for you.Comment -

#5994Life is nothing but going from point A (birth) to point B (death). What happens in the middle is of no importance. Therefore drinking a beer, copulating with a woman of ill repute or b!tching about the games you bet on are all equally of no importance. We are just killing time my friend...no pun intended.Comment -

#6000GG, what a tough night. Unbelievable how Minny loses a 5 run lead in the 8 th inning, and then Texas' Feliz blowing another save opportunity. He is either lights out or a gas can. I have him in fantasy league, quite inconsistent. But that's the way it goes somedays. Today will be a much better day. Would not have been a bad day if we would've cashed those 2 games. That's why they call it gambling. My motto is "I've been thrown from the horse many times, nothing else to do but get right back on". Kick some ass today. Will be looking forward to your plays via twitter, as I will be away from computer all day at a softball tournament. 6000 replies in this thread, you must be doing something right.Comment -

** everyone plz read --- important info somewhere in this novel about pinny that can help you win when i quit and / or go on vacation
Answering multiple questions / comments in one post:
** over the last 2 years ok city had the best record against the spread in the nba
you might think im nuts but they easily could have had a 3-2 series lead when the series was over..just sit back and think about it..15 point lead with 5 mins game 4...6 point lead with 2 mins game 5.
Dallas only went 3-2 against the spread in that series !!!...you guys make it sound like they covered every game
i took dallas in 3 of the 4 games they had against the lakers...so where is this im stubborn for not taking dallas stuff all coming from ?
** i have nothing against philly...i think they are over valued when holladay and cliff lee pitch
especially when their offense isnt hitting
do you know that if you bet against the phills this year everytime lee strated you would be up $$$..... And if you bet against holliday every start you would be even
** juicey baseball lines,,,, i wish i can take the dog every game...but i have to read what the line is telling me. Colorado being 155 favs against the cards screamed colorado , especially with 70 % of the pubes on st louis
as far as texas... I didnt want to take them.. I had to.
There is something i follow which i call the pinny lean ...its very rare ( 19 times total this yr ) .... Pinny always opens their lines lower in terms of the favorites than any other book
when their opening line on a favorite is higher than other books ( which is rare ) those games are 15-4 this year
it was 13-3 before yesterday.... They had 3 games which they opened higher.... Texas , seattle and tampa... So at 13-3 a have to take texas at - 195 and risk choking on the chalk. I begrudgingly took a -200 fav and lost in extra innings..
In addition... People that are viewing this thread and follow offshores closely will tell you that pinny always sets big favs 10-25 cents lower....example.. If the other books open with philly - 220 , pinny opens them at 195 or 200.....they had texas higher than the other books yesterday which blew my mind. I hadnt seen that in 2 years !!
As far as baltimore.... No.. Im not a secret fan or anything....but everyone fails to mention that they won 5 in a row before yesterday and is only bitching about yesterdays loss
before anyone asks....no there are no games today that pinny opened with the fav higher
ohhh ... And cleve... I dont think they keep it up...faded them the last 3 games and won... Unfortunately the books know this which is why the fukers had boston - 175 @ cleve and tampa - 170 last night
again..i dont wanna take big chalk... But if i think its a winner .. I guess i have toComment -

Keep up all the great work GG. I don't know how anyone can criticize someone who is up over $40K on the season. You're haters are merely jealous, so you should take it as a complement.
Just an FYI, you may want to get on the SD/Wash under (7) now before all the value is sucked out. Neither Stauffer or Zimmerman have given up more than 3 runs in any of their collective starts (except for two particularly bad starts for each pitcher). We have good trends pointing to the under as well with the Padres on a huge under streak (4 in a row, 8 of 10) and Washington going 5-5 o/u in last 10, despite playing the hot-hitting Orioles and Brewers in last two series. Finally, with over 80% of all bets coming in on the over, and the books starting to juice the under, we have line movement that also supports this play. This my biggest play of the day so far. Good luck!
