question for everyone out there: hammels or lincecum
wo of the top 5 pitchers in the nl, maybe in all of baseball, facing off tomorrow

do you even debate taking lincecum+170 or is it an easy call. how can you not take a guy who can throw 8 innings of no run ball at any time.

    but so can hammels

    so what do you do

If you feel they are pretty even, then you go with the value in the underdog. But the Phillies line up is much more potent then the Giants. I think Utley and Burrell are 1 , 2 in NL Homeruns.

I am passing on that game.

I may take Lincecum first five, need to look at the game further. Lincecum should've won his last game, but a bogus balk against him scored the winning run. He has been an ATM for gamblers.

Anytime you get Lincecum at this number you have to take a serious look at it.

I'm passing on this one. Lincecum has faced St Louis and San Diego twice, not exactly the greatest lineups. He only pitched 4 innnings against the Dodgers in his first start of the year, and had an ok outing last time against Colorado. He walks too many guys, and has given up 35 hits in 36 innings I see a lot of K's and a good era, but I would like to see him face a couple of more good lineups before I say he can stop the Phils. He has had the advantage of pitching in a some pitchers parks, San Fran, San Diego, LA, St Louis. Citizens is far from a pitcher's park. Also, who on the Giants is going to hit Hamels?

Lincecum has given up 6 and 4 runs respectively the last two times hes faced the Phillies. Even though the over/under is at 8 or so I would play the over in this game. It sounds a little obsecure, but if you play the numbers and go with the fact that Citizens bank park is a huge hitters park and the fact that Lincecum has tendency to walk people this could setup an easy over. Cole Hamels has also not been lights out either for the Phillies giving up 2,5, and 4 runs in his last 3 starts. If anyone were to play this game I see the over as the best play.

hmm....I think some of you guys may be giving too much credit to young TL. He hasn't even pitched a full year in the majors. He just lost last Monday to a struggling COL team at home albeit he pitched well but the more important point is that he's likely to receive very much offensive support hence the disparity in the line between two very good pitchers.

If anyone is not going to allow a run it will be Hammels. If Benji Molina is your clean up hitter that is a big problem IMO.....
