I am a full time basketball guy. Won a lot of money this season. But I am curious. Is there a strategy with baseball? Seems like anything can happen any night. Do you guys win with parlays, or so straight bets game by game to get ahead? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

#3Baseball you need to have a bankroll and bet only single games no parlays. The key is picking the right guy on the mound.Comment -

#6nothing wrong with parlays because you get real odds at all books basically.
I like to look at the lineups and wind before the game to get winners.Comment -

#7Factor the days starting pitcher, defense and team bullpen into the equation. Pitching and defense prevails all the time.Comment -

#8Weather is a huge factor, especially early in the spring.
Some people like to look at umpiring crews. Some home plate umpires are "pitchers umpires" and will tend to keep a lower score because of a bigger strike zone. Somewhat useful for totals.
I like to look for edges with starting pitchers vs the top of the lineup 1,2,3,4. I never look at overall team stats vs a pitcher, I try to weight them appropriately since the top of the order will face a starter more often.
I like to look at team vs team records and identify stats things that don't make sense, like (fake example) why is Pittsburgh, the worst team in the league 5-2 at New York vs the Mets? I take a close look at the boxscores and try to see patterns to identify edges.
A few more off the top of my head.Comment -

#9I'm actually trying something new. Takes patience, but I think it's easier to keep your bankroll from taking heavy hits during a looooong season. I'm playing mostly SERIES only instead of individual games. That way, I'm making two larger bets at the beginning of the week & two or three larger bets for the weekend vs. making several bets every day, etc. I'm still going to play a couple individual games each week, but mostly just taking shots with big dogs on those. Best of fortune to ya.Comment -

In baseball the ats standings and the real standings are one and the same as a moneyline is used and not a pointspread. So if you plan on playing all the good teams, and playing against all the bad teams, all you will ever do is lay chalk after more chalk and you will be buried so deep that it will be more likely that Jimmy Hoffa will be found before your bankroll is.Comment -

#16Basbeball is my favorite sport to cap. Looking forward to a great year. There are a ton of games played. You just need to be selective. It's all about pitching.Comment -

as you can see i am new to all this, but i noticed all the good teams such as red sox, yankees, indians, did well against the spread last year and will probably do well this year too! i am going to bet all the games for these teams, and will probably bet against baltimore! hopefully i will make some moneyComment -

#18You must be thinking run line. It's not really a spread. As cobra said, the yanks lost money last year if they bet them every game despite their 90+ win record. They were -12 units basically. TheGiants were more than 20 units down on the year despite Mr. Bonds.Comment
