    Mark Reynolds traded to O's
For 2 relievers. Guy had 200+ K's and under .200 BA this season. Any O's fans out there? What do you think of this?

There was a time a hitter of Reynolds' ilk would've spent his entire professional career -- or at least most of it -- in the minor leagues. He's got but one facet to his game, hitting the long ball.

If nothing else, this certainly quashes the Adrian Beltre rumors as far as the Orioles go.

Its an good deal -- he's only making about 5.5M/year and obviously they are hoping last year was an aberration (and it probably was based on his BB rate and Babip).

Seeing how they are giving up a pair of middle relivers, even if they are cost controlled players, for him seems to be worth it.

Reynolds isn't a world beater, he's a poor defender, but he's only 27 and there's plenty of reason to think that he will rebound and be an effective fairly low cost piece. But most people will over look it because they are dazzled by one stat.

If I was going to finish that sentence, it would be, "...so there's plenty of opportunity for him to hurt your lineup as he heads towards his early 30s." I was going to compare him to Rob Deer, but Deer wasn't in as critical of a defensive position as Reynolds is.

Not sure about specific pitchers last year, didn't look that up. But he was 8-for-44 against AL clubs last season with 2 HR.

                4-11 vs. Toronto
                0-11 at Boston
                2-6 at Detroit (1 HR)
                2-9 vs. Yankees (1 HR)
                0-7 at Tampa Bay

Ya he is bad, but man if he happens to swing where you pitch it, he has mad power.

Anytime I had a bet against the Snakes, I was very happy to see Reynolds come to the play.
