What's the Most Amount of Money You've Ever Earned in a Single MLB Season?
I'm starting with a $5,000 bankroll in mid-April. Playing ML and RL (straight bets and some parlays: $500 to $1000 per play) What's a reasonable projection for a final MLB season profit?

500-1000 dollar plays are way too big for your bankroll...try between 2 and 3 % for better money management.

I do agree with this...at 500 per play that is 10 losses and you are out.

Yea, at most you should be betting 100-150, you wont last through opening week betting 1000 with 5k roll.

I think he MAY make it to May 1st but not much past that barring an incredible winning streak the first week or so. Dude running 10% of your roll in a play is the best way to go broke. Unless you can cap 80% winners your looking to be broken not break them.

I understand proper money management - play small units/small percentages of your bankroll (hit at 54% for profit). For NBA & NHL action I play it safe (& utilize the money management system), but baseball season has always been kind to me. I can usually hit about 80 to 85% of my picks throughout the season (no lie). I think that most pro bettors earn the bulk of their income off baseball. Everybody wants to pretend that the NFL is the big money maker.

I think maybe we're the ones who should be asking you the questions then. With that bankroll and strategy, how much do you project you are going to win?

Point taken. I honestly can't say. I have my situational projections, but this is sports betting where nothing's a definite lock.

If you hit 80% you'll make enough you won't have to worry about other sports, a job, bills, etc...

Pretty much... I set a mark (income I need for the year), work hard to hit it, cash out, and then use whatever is left in the account for added play (high risk sh*T).

willyback, sounds like you have a plan and have some experience at it, so I say run with it and keep us posted. I'm a crotchety old fart, but never so crotchety to learn something new.

Do you ever play futures? I'm a bigger futures and game-by-game totals player than anything else.

Not that interested in futures. I mainly stick to ML and RL plays. Sometimes I put action on the series for added value. There's so many ways to get paid with baseball it's truly amazing. I wish they played baseball 365 days a year. I'd probably try to watch every game (lol).

                            Baseball Betting

After a really nice run in the college basketball tourneys to build a very large (by my standards) bankroll, I couldn't help but try and keep my luck going during the baseball season. Since I know baeball better than any other sport, I felt confident about it and would lay a lot of wood and/or take a fair amount of (-1.5) lines, betting big as you plan to do. It did not take very long at all for my bankroll to be gone and to lose a significant amount more than that.

Baseball is a funny game on a day to day basis. I think this year I may take a couple of season totals, but other than that I will stay away.
