Lee to the Braves in the works
Wow this could be huge for the Braves.
Glaus sux balls and they need him at third anyways with Chipper out. Glaus is hitting a 239 after starting the season on fire.

I think if they get this trade done they will for sure win the NL Pennant.

The question is if you get Lee and Move Glaus to First does Prado go to SS or 2b?

Was very happy to wake up to this news this morning, especially considering the rumors from a couple days ago that had us going after Aramis Ramirez. We won't need to give up much at all, and I'm by no means counting my chickens before they hatch, but Glaus would be a pretty good DH if we can find a way to make it to the WS.

Derek Lee has a better chance of playing 3rd than Troy Glaus, Glaus can't move

Oh yeah, missed that in the OP, not a chance at all of Glaus playing third. Glaus is a pathetic first basemen, it'd be sad watching him play third, the guy has no knees. We're fine with Prado at third and Omar at second.

Ok so do you just put Glaus on the bench? I guess he could go back to how he was hitting in May or June???

Huh, this is a nothing move. Braves theory...Let's replace one washed up injured 1B with another one????? Lee, might be a tad better hitter now and his defense is surely better but this is not breaking news. As far as moving anybody to 3B? NO, it will not happen. Braves will man that posistion with Prado,Infante,Conrad the rest of the season unless there is a trade made for a 3B

Well there's no questioning that at the very least he needs some rest, he's almost hobbling any time he's had to run lately, so you gotta put him on the bench for now. Hell we could even see him be released since he's making $350K for every additional 50 at-bats, but it's not too likely we'll see that happen.

I'll take back my comments... Lee looks like he is starting to come around and he has a history of being hot in September which could be a catalyst for the Braves down the stretch if Lee is healthy enough to play. The Phillies are not going way so ATL needs to do something. Can't win 1-0 2-1 all the time.

Glaus could possibly be left off the postseason roster entirely if this trade happens

I think benching Glaus is a smart move ... both for him and the Braves!!

Adam LaRoche who just cleared waivers would've been a better option, but I'll happily take Derek Lee.

Bobby Cox asked Infante and Prado yesterday to talk and decide where each one wants to play. And they decided to have Prado play 3B and Infante 2nd. Cox doesn't care where they play. He lets them figure it out themselves.

What happens now with Glaus is teams are walking the guys in front of him to get him to hit a double play and they are getting burned. Now that Diaz is hitting good they will use Hinske more on 1B especially when facing LHP because Diaz plays only against LHP starters.

They better do something cause the Phillies now look like the best team in the NL the past month and even the Pds have turned things up a notch. This is coming from a guy who has quite a bit wrapped up in some future Braves plays, etc...

I don't care who the Braves get as long as we do not have to see a GIDP from Glaus again this season.
