Taking Jered Weaver and the Angels at +122 on Tuesday.
There is absolutely no statistical reason to take the angels on tuesday but im gonna do it anyways. Buchholz has been lights out. The angels have been brutal on the road and have lost 7 straight games to the Red Sox. Despite all these things favoring boston the sox are only 33-29 at home this year. The last time the Angels won there Buchholz was on the mound in game 3 of the angels sweep of boston in last years playoffs. Gotta take Weaver at +122 on the ML. Good luck if you tail or fade.

        I like the pick.

Especially b/c of this gem, "The Red Sox have never won eight in a row against the Angels in the same season."

            Can't do it, LB.

Weaver's a mediocre road pitcher at best who has a bad track record @ Fenway. If this game were in Anaheim I'd be all over him vs. Buchholz, who is due for a bad game. Not here, though -- especially with Pedroia coming back tomorrow.

I know the under is one of Dexter's vaunted A-3's, but I like the over here.

            BOL.

Like I said there is no reason to take the angels so take boston as the nominal home fave. The line is a pkem if you take out the home field.

I'm not a fan of backing Buchholz. He's on a list with Tommy Hanson, Dan Haren, Derek Lowe, etc. as guys I'd like to fade -- even if they're pitching well.

I just can't pull the trigger on this one, though.

There is actually an interesting point to be made here, though, now that I look at this game (you'll like this, LB):

Boston is 7-0 against LAA this season. When they swept the Angels at home back in May, they were -175, -172, -162 and -130 (Dice-K when he was struggling vs. Kaz). Now granted the pitching matchup is a bit more even here than it was at any point during that series, but 30-40 cents closer? With a team that's 7-0 against their opponent and a pitcher who has absolutely stunk at Fenway in his career?

Shouldn't the Sawx be at least -150 here?

Now your getting my pick a little bit. Seems way too easy to take the Red Sox here.

I noticed some of the touts are already drooling all over it.

I'm just trying to find an angle I like to take LAA with you, because nothing's really stood out yet other than the odd line.

BTW, LB, did you see SD is only -111 on Tuesday? Something's up there too, IMHO. Even though Garland's been mediocre on the road, this is a superior team going against a cold pitcher in Wells. They should be at least -125-130.

As for the Cubs game they were a consideration for me but pinny has no RL out yet so im gonna wait. The angels have no angle. Just press submit and hope for a win. I cant understand why boston is only -130 with one of the hottest pitchers out.

What about taking Boston now and then picking up the Angels at game time for an easy scalp??

Kind of reminds me of when you took Tigers +190 vs Lester(think thats right). First game back off a road trip same as that game. Angels not playing real well just like Tigers were not. GL I was thinking Boston originally but probably wont play this game.
