Verlander walks the leadoff man then TB plays some small ball and bunts him over. Crawford and Longoria go down in order as Verlander doesn't look too sharp but hegets better as the game goes on normally.

Verlander playing on borrowed time gets out of another jam. Bases loaded with 2 outs after walking two. He just doesn't seem sharp but he's getting the job done so far as we head to the bottom of the 2nd.

I don't see a bad lineup in Detroit. You have the best hitter in the league in Cabrera and Magglio who is hurt(that's huge). Damon and the new guy Boesch is pretty damn good too. Laird is a waste of space but he calls a good game.

Yeah I wouldn't cap based solely on stats. I did that for a while and lost money hand over fist. Just some advice.

Basehit 1-1 now. Also has anyone noticed how many times teams get a run in the 6th? Normally a tight ball game. Say the total is 8.5 and the 1st half is 4.5. The score will be 2-2 after 5 then the 6th comes and runs start coming in.

Would that have to do with pitchers getting tired after 5 innings? Interesting to note but I think most runs in the second half come in the 6th.

Why? He is up to 110 pitches I think. Why would you keep him in. Maybe Leyland is just postering but he has made some pretty dumb decisions before. He must really not trust his bull pen. I mean come on they are not seattle.
