I'm starting to think Red Sox take this game to stay in the hunt.
Something's telling me Hughes may have control problems or try to get too cute
and end up walking quite a few batters.
Left-handed hitters David Ortiz (4 for 6) and J.D. Drew (5 for 9) have enjoyed success against the right-hander.
              Also, some points on Lester..
Derek Jeter is 10 for 30 against Lester while Nick Swisher (.211), Mark Teixeira (.211) and Jorge Posada (.167) have all fared poorly. Lester has a 4.11 ERA during the day compared to 2.74 at night. Also, A-Rod is only probable and still sore.

I really think this is Yanks or nothing. After the Rays started losing I said the Yanks are going to take over, and they are. We all know if the Yanks come full power no one can stop them, and with all the trends against them, betting against them at home right now is not a good idea.

Yanks parlayed with over or yanks over.

At full strength or even 80%, I would agree.

I just can't back Boston here given Lester's recent struggles and the team that will be backing him up. And that fact about Lester's day ERA doesn't help considering it's a day game.

Both starting pitchers did well though.

                            But Lester was better

                            Lester 6.1 IP, 4H, 0 Runs, 3 BB, 6 Ks
                            Hughes 6.0 IP, 6H, 2 Runs, 1 BB, 3 Ks
