Hellicks is far from a no name pitcher if u follow the Rays. He leads the international league in wins, ERA, and K's for starters. Rays fans consider him the future much like us sox fans considered Buchholz and Lester the future a few years ago. After a few growing years and Lester whooping cancer that has worked out great BTW. Anyway I think he is very capable of tossing a gem against the depleted Twins, who managed to put together only 1 inning against Lucas French and the M's. The line also screams Rays.

i try not to bet on or against pitchers making there 1st starts, yes he is talented there is no disputing that but this will also be the first time he sees a big league line-up (one that can rake, injuries or not)....also dont realluy like the fact TB coming off a highly emotional series against nyy were the stadium was packed and they were playing for a lot, should be back to there normal 8.000 fans for this one......

Madden is a very good manager and I'm thinking he will be stressing that taking a series from the yanks means nothing if they give the game right back on a letdown

i agree he is very good, but it still a rookie pitcher against a very good line-up....not to mention Pavano is far from a slouch, the guy is doing his job day in day out....probably a pass for me so GL
